Overall verdict

  • RONTGEN appears to be a niche or emerging application, and without verified, up-to-date information on its features, performance, and user reviews, it is difficult to definitively confirm its quality. Prospective users should conduct independent research, check recent reviews, and test the app themselves before relying on it for critical tasks.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing DevToys and RONTGEN.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

RONTGEN's answer:

"Currently in closed beta with early adopters from the medical and content creation fields."

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

RONTGEN's answer:

Next.js, TipTap, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui on the frontend. Django, Django REST Framework, LangChain, and PostgreSQL on the backend.

What's the story behind your product?

RONTGEN's answer:

Built by a neuroradiologist who needed a faster way to write radiology reports. Existing tools were either chatbots or lacked voice transcription integration. RONTGEN was created to solve this problem and evolved into a general-purpose AI writing editor for anyone.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

RONTGEN's answer:

Full control over prompts, models, and providers — no black boxes. One OpenRouter key unlocks 200+ models with no markup. Voice transcription is built into the editor, not a separate tool. Agent pipelines automate repetitive writing tasks that other editors require manually.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

RONTGEN's answer:

Professionals who write frequently and want to integrate AI into their workflow — doctors writing reports, content creators, researchers, copywriters, and anyone who dictates and edits text regularly.

What makes your product unique?

RONTGEN's answer:

Unlike chatbot-based AI tools, RONTGEN is a full rich text editor where you build custom agent pipelines — chain multiple AI steps (transcribe → refine → structure → conclude) and run them with one click. Combined with BYOK support for 10+ providers and built-in voice transcription, you own your entire writing workflow.
