Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing DevLogs and Zap2Doc.

What makes your product unique?

Zap2Doc's answer:

Most tools either export WhatsApp media OR transcribe voice notes — Zap2Doc does both, in a single PDF that preserves the full chronology of the conversation. Upload the .zip export, get back a professionally formatted document with messages, images, and audio transcriptions in order. No app to install, no account required.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Zap2Doc's answer:

One-off payment (no subscription), 8 languages out of the box (en/pt/es/fr/de/it/hi/ar), free preview before you pay, files up to 2 GB, audio transcription powered by Whisper. Most alternatives lock features behind monthly plans or only handle one part of the workflow.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Zap2Doc's answer:

Anyone who needs to document an important WhatsApp conversation: people working out agreements, negotiations, professional records, or organising long chats they want to keep. Strongest demand in Brazil, India, and the MENA region, where formatted chat records carry weight in real-world disputes.

What's the story behind your product?

Zap2Doc's answer:

The founder got scammed by a repair shop and his lawyer asked for an organised record of the WhatsApp thread to build the case. Existing tools were either expensive subscriptions, mobile-only, or stripped out the audio messages entirely. Zap2Doc was built to be the tool he needed that day.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Zap2Doc's answer:

Astro 6 + React 19 frontend (Netlify), Node/Express API and Python/FastAPI PDF service (Railway), PostgreSQL for orders, Cloudflare R2 for object storage, OpenAI Whisper for transcription, WeasyPrint + Jinja2 for PDF rendering, Stripe and Mercado Pago for payments.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Zap2Doc's answer:

Zap2Doc is a self-serve product used by individuals — no enterprise contracts. Top markets so far: Brazil, the US, Germany, India, and the MENA region.
