Features and specs

DeveloperToolStack 5 features
WListDB 10 features
  • Unified Toolset
Consolidates multiple developer utilities into a single platform, reducing the need to switch between different tools and websites for common development tasks.
  • Time Efficiency
Streamlines repetitive tasks like formatting, encoding, and conversions, which can significantly speed up development workflows compared to searching for individual tools.
  • Accessibility
Being web-based, it can typically be accessed from any device with a browser without requiring installation, making it convenient for quick tasks on the go.
  • Learning Curve
Having a consistent interface across multiple tools within the same platform can make it easier for developers to learn and navigate compared to using disparate third-party tools.
  • Cost-Effective Option
May offer a free or affordable alternative to purchasing multiple separate paid tools or subscriptions for different development utilities.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Information Availability
As a specific niche tool, there may be limited independent reviews, documentation, or community feedback available to fully evaluate its reliability and feature set.
  • Potential Feature Limitations
Aggregator-style platforms often provide simplified versions of tools that may lack the advanced features or customization options found in specialized standalone applications.
  • Dependency on Internet Connection
Being a web-based service, functionality is likely dependent on having a stable internet connection, unlike offline desktop tools.
  • Data Privacy Concerns
Using an online tool for code snippets, data formatting, or other developer tasks may raise concerns about how sensitive information or code is handled, stored, or transmitted.
  • Uncertain Long-term Support
As with many smaller developer tool platforms, there's uncertainty about the longevity of support, updates, and maintenance compared to established, well-funded alternatives.
  • One-Click Steam Import
Connect your Steam account and import your entire library at once. Choose a tracking status per game (or ignore it) during import — no manual entry, no spreadsheets.
  • Backlog Status Tracking
Mark every game as playing, finished, planned, on hold, abandoned or endless. Filter your library by status to always know what to play next.
  • Playtime Tracking (Main Story / Completionist)
See how long games take to beat — Main Story, Main + Extras and Completionist times — and log your own hours per playthrough phase.
  • Automatic Playtime Tracking (Desktop App)
The free desktop app detects when a game is running and tracks your sessions automatically, so your hours stay accurate without manual timers.
  • Custom Ranked Lists
Build public or private lists, rank your top games and share them with a link. Community lists are browsable and votable.
  • Year Recap & Monthly Wrapped
Get a shareable recap of your gaming year — games finished, hours played, top genres — plus monthly wrapped summaries, exportable as an image.
  • Release Calendar
Track upcoming releases week by week and get notified about the games you follow or hype.
  • Ratings & Reviews
Score games, write reviews and keep a record of what you thought of everything you played.
  • Free to Use
Core features are free with no ads. Optional supporter tier for extras.
  • Multi-Language
Available in 5 languages (English, Spanish and more).

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing DeveloperToolStack and WListDB.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

WListDB's answer:

Gamers with large backlogs — the "patient gamer" type with a 100+ game Steam library who wants to know what they actually finished, how long games take to beat, and what to play next. Also players who enjoy ranking and sharing their collections through public lists and year-in-review recaps.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

WListDB's answer:

Next.js and React on the frontend, NestJS with PostgreSQL on the API, and an Electron desktop app for automatic play session tracking. All TypeScript.

What makes your product unique?

WListDB's answer:

WListDB combines the two things gamers usually need separate tools for: HowLongToBeat-style playtime data (Main Story / Main + Extras / Completionist) and a full backlog tracker with statuses, ranked lists and reviews. Entry is automated — import your whole Steam library in one click instead of adding games one by one — and a free desktop app detects running games and tracks your play sessions automatically, split by phase and compared against community averages. At the end of the year you get a shareable recap of everything you played.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

WListDB's answer:

Less manual work: one-click Steam import instead of typing in hundreds of games, and automatic session tracking through the desktop app instead of manual timers. Deeper playtime tracking than catalog-style trackers (per-run hours split by Main / Extra / Completionist phases), and personal tracking that pure playtime databases don't offer. Core features are free with no ads, and the app is available in 5 languages.

What's the story behind your product?

WListDB's answer:

The founder has been a patient gamer for years. His Steam library hit 300+ games and he had no idea what he'd actually completed — spreadsheets didn't stick. So he built WListDB: connect Steam once, sync your library, mark status as you play, and get a recap at the end of the year with games finished, hours played and top genres. It's the tool he wanted for himself, kept free with no ads on the core features.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

WListDB's answer:

WListDB is a free consumer app for individual gamers, not a B2B product — it has no corporate customers.
