What makes your product unique?

Wishfox's answer:

Wishfox gives equal attention to collecting wishes and coordinating gifts. A wishlist becomes a shared planning space: its owner can express what they want, while gift-givers can coordinate through reservations that preserve the surprise. The focus is on thoughtful gifting across different stores and occasions.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Wishfox's answer:

  • Front-end: Nuxt 4 (Vue), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Nuxt UI
  • Back-end: Bun, Hono, Prisma, PostgreSQL

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Wishfox's answer:

Wishfox serves individuals and families rather than enterprise customers. We don’t currently have publicly announced customer names to share.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Wishfox's answer:

Wishfox makes gift planning easier for both the person creating a wishlist and the people buying gifts. Collect wishes from different stores, share your lists, and let friends and family reserve items to avoid duplicate gifts without spoiling the surprise. Chrome and Firefox extensions make saving ideas convenient while browsing.

What's the story behind your product?

Wishfox's answer:

Wishfox started as an idea in late 2000s but I had no experience to build such a complex product. It was forgotten for a long time until 2020 lockdown. Most of my clients paused contracts and with almost nothing to do I had find myself something. The idea resurfaced. And now with experience it was much more feasible.

Work started in June 2020, first version was released in October. Wishfox is now in version 6 and is still only a one man show.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Wishfox's answer:

Wishfox is for individuals, couples, families, and groups of friends who want to make gift-giving more thoughtful and less stressful. People use it to organize birthday wishes, holiday gifts, wedding lists, and everyday ideas—and to find out what their loved ones actually want.
