Pixapi is a unified visual AI API for image generation, image editing, and asynchronous video generation. Choose a model and settings, see the exact credit cost before you send the request, then call everything through one Bearer-authenticated API โ€” one key, one prepaid credit balance, no subscriptions.

  • Credits, not tokens โ€” 1 credit โ‰ˆ $0.01. Images are billed per image and video per second, with unit prices published on every model page.
  • Know the cost upfront โ€” required credits are visible before the request is submitted, and failed generations are not charged.
  • 10+ production models โ€” Gemini image models (Nano Banana at 2 credits โ‰ˆ $0.02/image), GPT Image 2 from 1 credit (~$0.01), plus async video routes such as Veo, Seedance, Kling, and Wan.
  • Developer-friendly โ€” REST with Bearer auth, async task polling for long-running video jobs, per-model docs, and a remote MCP endpoint for agents.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CutList Optimizer and Pixapi.ai.

What makes your product unique?

Pixapi.ai's answer:

Pixapi makes visual AI costs predictable: instead of token math after the fact, you pick a model and settings and see the exact credit cost before submitting the request. One prepaid credit balance (1 credit โ‰ˆ $0.01) covers image generation, image editing, and asynchronous video through a single Bearer-authenticated API, with failed generations not charged.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Pixapi.ai's answer:

Every model price is published per image or per second with no hidden multipliers, so budgets are auditable line by line in the console. Current pricing-page comparisons show supported image routes priced below official list rates (for example, gemini-2.5-flash-image at 2 credits โ‰ˆ $0.02 versus ~$0.039). One API key and credit balance cover both images and async video, so there are no separate accounts per provider.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Pixapi.ai's answer:

Developers and small teams that ship image or video generation into products: SaaS backends needing predictable per-image credit spend, product/marketing teams running image editing workflows, and builders automating text-to-video or image-to-video with async tasks. AI agent developers can also wire models in through the remote MCP endpoint.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Pixapi.ai's answer:

A REST API with Bearer authentication (POST /v1/images/generations for images, POST /v1/async/videos/generations with task polling via GET /v1/tasks/{id} for video), a model catalog with per-model documentation, and a remote MCP endpoint for AI agents.

  • OK tell the truth, what is the most number of times you misjudged the amount of wood you need for a project, and had to go get more? More than 3?
i'm trying to figure out how much wood I need to buy for my next project. can't use cutlistoptimizer.com because it does only sheet goods and I want linear (just boards). Anybody know of an optimizer for that? Source: over 3 years ago
  • Project cut list at lumber yard?

  • Hardest project to date...super proud of this built in closet
I used cutlistoptimizer.com I highly recommend it. I also increase the kerf size to give me more tolerance to make sure I can rough cut it with a circular saw before I tidy those edges on the table saw. Source: about 4 years ago
  • ISO Plans for a unit like this
I use sites like cut list optimizer to help reduce wastage of materials once I have the size I want a piece to be. Maybe that would help? Source: about 4 years ago
  • Best way of planning cuts to use the least amount of waste
If you have a big project with lots of plywood, cutlistoptimizer.com is great. If you're working mostly in solid lumber, I do it just like you: put your cuts in a list and start dividing them into boards. It usually doesn't take that long, and sometimes there are other considerations that will make any lumber list irrelevant. Maybe a certain piece needs to be knot-free, or knot-free in the last 6", or whatever.... Source: about 4 years ago
