CosmyDay started as a technical frustration. Nearly every free astrology site online either produced sloppy calculations or wrapped decent math in a subscription funnel that demanded a card before showing anything useful.

The premise was simple: if the ephemeris math is done properly and the interpretations are written clearly, the free tools should be genuinely good on their own — and people who want depth will pay for a report because they want it, not because a paywall trapped them.

The engine was first built and validated on a Russian-language sister project, where real users proved that people care far more about their own natal chart than about generic sign content. CosmyDay is the rebuilt English-language version of that engine, with a cleaner architecture and a US-focused content library.

It remains an independent, self-funded project run by a small team, with no investors and no ad networks shaping what gets published.

Frontend: Next.js (App Router) with TypeScript and React, statically generated and deployed on Vercel. ~500 pre-rendered pages plus on-demand ISR for the horoscope archive. Backend: Python with FastAPI, running on a dedicated Hetzner server behind systemd. Astronomy engine: Swiss Ephemeris via pyswisseph — all chart, transit and synastry math. Content generation: LLM-assisted interpretation writing on top of computed sky data, with an automated validation layer checking word count, jargon and temporal accuracy before anything is published. Data: SQLite for orders and subscribers; JSON content files baked into the frontend at build time. Payments & delivery: PayPal REST API; transactional email via Resend; PDF report generation server-side. Analytics & indexing: Google Analytics 4, IndexNow for near-instant search-engine indexing, MaxMind GeoLite2 for country-level traffic enrichment.

CosmyDay is a direct-to-consumer product, not B2B — there are no enterprise accounts or named clients to list. Customers are individual readers buying personalized reports for themselves or as gifts.
