Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Cookiebot and Lextiva.

What's the story behind your product?

Lextiva's answer:

Built after shipping multiple indie products and getting burned by the subscription model on routine compliance documents. Privacy Policy, Terms, Cookie Policy, DPA โ€” these are commodity needs every web product hits in the first 30 days. Paying $15โ€“$39 per month forever for a 5-document set you generate once felt like the wrong unit of pricing.

Lextiva inverts that: pay once, own the documents, regenerate any time laws change at no extra charge. The free 10-second audit at the top of the funnel is the "try before you decide if you need us" promise โ€” most visitors run the audit, fix two or three things themselves, and never need to buy anything from us. That's fine.

Operated by ARCADA LLC, a New Mexico LLC (EIN 99-3108432), founded 2024. Not a law firm โ€” every generated document carries a "legal information, not legal advice" disclaimer.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Lextiva's answer:

Next.js 16 (App Router) with TypeScript 5 strict mode Tailwind CSS v4 + Radix UI primitives Stripe โ€” one-time payment rails (no subscription billing logic) pdf-lib with full-Unicode Inter font embedding for signature-ready PDFs PostHog + Google Analytics 4 + Meta Pixel

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Lextiva's answer:

Solo indie SaaS founders shipping their first paid product Shopify and custom-stack e-commerce stores under $5M ARR Mobile-app developers publishing to the iOS App Store and Google Play Small consulting agencies needing per-client Data Processing Agreements AI app builders preparing for EU AI Act 2026 enforcement

Lextiva launched in 2026 and is in the first wave of paying customers. We don't publish customer logos until customers explicitly consent to be featured โ€” we'll update this answer as that consent stream builds.

What makes your product unique?

Lextiva's answer:

Three things, in plain numbers: One-time pricing. $69 (Starter) or $119 (Professional) per project. No subscription, no per-visitor cap, no per-clause add-on. Every other major generator (Termly, iubenda, Termageddon, Cookiebot) bills monthly or annually forever.

EU AI Act 2026 bundled by default. The AI Use Policy is in the Professional tier โ€” not gated to an enterprise upgrade or a separate add-on.

Free 10-second compliance audit at lextiva.com/audit โ€” scans any URL for 10 signals (Privacy Policy presence, Terms, Cookie Policy, consent banner, third-party trackers, AI disclosures, DSR contact, HTTPS, sub-processor list, retention policy). No signup. Run it on your own site before deciding if you need us.

We also publish our underlying compliance dataset openly on GitHub (MIT) at github.com/arturayupov/compliance-matrix โ€” anyone can verify the regulatory facts our wizard runs on.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Lextiva's answer:

Lifetime cost. Lextiva Professional is $119 once. Termly's mid-tier is $25/month โ€” about $900 over three years. iubenda's base subscription plus the add-on modules a US-shipping indie SaaS actually needs lands at $20โ€“60/month for the same scope. With Lextiva you own the documents forever and regenerate at no extra charge when laws change.

Bundled scope. Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, standalone GDPR Notice, standalone CCPA Notice, AI Use Policy, and Data Processing Agreement โ€” all in the Professional tier. On Termly the DPA is higher-tier; on iubenda several modules are paid add-ons.

Honest comparisons. We publish side-by-side comparisons at lextiva.com/vs (Termly, iubenda, Cookiebot, PrivacyPolicies.com, Termageddon). Every page has a "When [competitor] is the better choice" section. If Cookiebot's runtime CMP or iubenda's multi-language docs are decisive for you, we'll say so.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Lextiva's answer:

Indie founders and small businesses (1โ€“50 employees) in nine verticals:

Indie SaaS founders (solo or 2โ€“5 person teams) needing GDPR + CCPA for EU + California users E-commerce stores (Shopify, WooCommerce, custom stacks) Mobile-app developers (iOS + Android โ€” both stores require explicit privacy disclosures) AI app builders (EU AI Act 2026 + AI Use Policy is critical) Consulting firms and digital agencies (need DPAs for client work) Marketplace operators (multi-sided controllerโ€“processor relationships) Creator-economy operators (newsletters, online courses, paid communities) Local-services SMBs (minimum-viable compliance for trade businesses) Compliance-conscious teams in larger SMBs filling routine document gaps

Not in our lane: Fortune 500, HIPAA-covered healthcare entities, GLBA-regulated financial services, FCRA credit operators. For litigation, novel data flows, or regulated industries, hire licensed counsel โ€” we say so plainly in our Terms.
