As answered by people managing Codility and Serin.
Serin's answer:
Serin is built for founders, engineering leads, and small talent teams at startups and growing companies that don't have a big HR department behind them.
Most of our users are hiring for technical roles — software engineering, DevOps, QA — along with product and ops positions. These are the roles that pull in 300 to 1,000+ applicants, and without Serin, senior engineers end up burning 15-20 hours a week just running first-round screening calls.
Serin's answer:
Our sub processors include: vercel for web deployment, Google Cloud Platform for Interview Infrastructure and AI Provider, Posthog for Analytics, Groq for AI API requirements.
Serin's answer:
Most interview software makes candidates record themselves answering questions into a webcam, alone, against a countdown timer. It's awkward, and it doesn't really tell you much about how someone thinks. Serin does something different: it runs an actual back-and-forth voice conversation with the candidate, powered by an AI interviewer.
You give it a job description, and it builds out the interview questions and a scoring rubric on its own. Then, during the call, it listens to what the candidate says, follows the thread of the conversation, and asks follow-up questions when it needs more detail, the same way a real interviewer would push on a vague answer.
It also keeps an eye out for cheating. Serin tracks speech patterns, records the screen, and flags tab-switching, so candidates can't just read answers off ChatGPT or another AI open in the background.
Serin's answer:
Candidates actually stick around: Good engineers hate one-way recorded video prompts — drop-off rates on those often top 40%. Serin feels like talking to a real person, not performing for a webcam, and it's available in the browser whenever the candidate is ready, day or night.
It can't be gamed by AI. Most legacy screening tools have no idea if a candidate is quietly reading answers off ChatGPT or Final Round AI. Serin checks that the knowledge is actually theirs, in real time.
Built for startups, not just enterprises. Platforms like HireVue lock you into $20,000+/year contracts and weeks of setup. With Serin, you can be up and screening candidates in under five minutes, paying only for what you use.
Serin's answer:
Serin was actually built as an internal tool that we want to use to solve our own hiring issue, and then we thought: why not share this with the rest of the world.
Serin's answer:
Right now we don't have a customer, yet! The biggest demo we've given to is Nichetech Solutions (https://www.nichetechsolutions.com)
