Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CodeSignal and CertifyALot.

What makes your product unique?

CertifyALot's answer:

CertifyALot is the only bulk certificate tool built specifically for how trainers actually work. Three things make it different — you bring your own certificate design instead of being forced into templates, you preview 5 real sample certificates before generating the full batch so mistakes are caught early, and there is no subscription — credits never expire and you pay only for certificates successfully generated. No other tool in this space combines all three.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

CertifyALot's answer:

Most certificate tools are either too generic or too expensive for independent trainers. Canva and Word require manual copy-paste for every student. Accredible and Certifier charge monthly subscriptions that make no sense for trainers who run 4-6 batches a year. CertifyALot is purpose-built for batch-based certificate workflows — upload your existing design, upload your student list, preview samples, generate everything in one go, download as ZIP. 100 certificates in under 5 minutes. Pay only when you generate. No lock-in, no redesign, no recurring fees.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

CertifyALot's answer:

Independent trainers and small coaching institutes in India who run regular training batches and issue certificates to students. This includes spoken English trainers, soft skills and personality development coaches, yoga and fitness instructors, POSH trainers, digital marketing bootcamps, and corporate workshop hosts. Anyone who issues certificates batch after batch and is currently doing it manually in Canva, Word, or Google Slides.

What's the story behind your product?

CertifyALot's answer:

We kept seeing the same painful pattern repeat itself across trainers in India. Batch ends on Friday. Students start asking for their certificates by Saturday. Trainer is still up on Sunday night typing names into Canva one by one, exporting PDFs, renaming files, sending individually. For 80, 100, sometimes 150 students. Every single batch. The tools existed — Canva, Word mail merge, Google Slides — but none of them were built for this workflow. They were workarounds that broke the moment you had 50 students or made one mistake. We built CertifyALot because this problem was too specific, too repetitive, and too solvable to ignore. Trainers should spend their time training — not doing certificate admin.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CertifyALot's answer:

CertifyALot is built as a web application. The platform uses modern frontend and backend technologies to handle certificate design uploads, student list processing, field mapping, bulk PDF generation, and secure ZIP delivery via email. Authentication is handled via Google OAuth and magic link login. Built and hosted on cloud infrastructure with privacy-first data handling — student details are never stored after certificate generation is complete.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

CertifyALot's answer:

Independent trainers running spoken English and communication skills batches Yoga and fitness certification institutes Soft skills and personality development trainers POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) certified trainers Digital marketing and coding bootcamp instructors Small corporate training and coaching institutes
