What makes your product unique?

Omnipacto.de's answer:

It computes the deadline instead of storing it. From minimum term, renewal period and notice period, Omnipacto derives the latest possible day to cancel and reminds you before it passes. And it never overwrites a price: every change is added with its date, so the history of a contract stays intact and a change of provider becomes a chain of predecessor and successor rather than a deleted row.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Omnipacto.de's answer:

Most contract management tools are built for legal departments: cloud only, priced per user and month, designed around approval workflows. Omnipacto is built for the other side — a household or a small business with twenty to forty contracts. It runs on your own hardware, there is no account with the maker and no telemetry, and it costs 39 euros once instead of a subscription. Ten contracts are free without a time limit.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Families, private individuals and small businesses that already self-host — a NAS, a mini PC or a home server with Docker. Typically people with twenty to forty running contracts: insurance, energy, telecom, subscriptions, memberships. Anyone who has ever missed a notice period by a week knows the problem it solves.

What's the story behind your product?

Omnipacto.de's answer:

It started as a private need: contracts in folders, deadlines in a spreadsheet, and a notice period missed once too often. The existing tools were either aimed at companies or wanted the data in someone else's cloud. So it was built the other way round — on your own hardware, with the deadline computed rather than noted. It is developed by one person in Germany.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Omnipacto.de's answer:

Python with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy on the backend, PostgreSQL as the database, TypeScript with React on the front end. Shipped as a single Docker image for amd64 and arm64. Documents are rendered with pdf.js and read with Tesseract; the optional AI extraction runs against an Ollama model in your own network, never in a cloud.
