CodeinCloud 5 features
Cropy.it 7 features
  • Cloud-based development
CodeinCloud offers a cloud-based coding environment, allowing developers to write, run, and manage code from anywhere without needing to set up a local development environment.
  • Accessibility
Being web-based, the platform can be accessed from various devices and locations, making it convenient for remote work and collaboration across teams.
  • No local setup required
Users can start coding quickly without installing IDEs, compilers, or dependencies on their own machines, which lowers the barrier to entry for beginners.
  • Potential for collaboration
Cloud platforms often support real-time collaboration features, enabling multiple developers to work together on the same codebase efficiently.
  • Scalability
Cloud infrastructure can typically scale resources up or down based on project needs, which is helpful for handling varying workloads.

Possible disadvantages

  • Internet dependency
As a cloud-based service, it requires a stable internet connection to function, which can be a limitation in areas with poor connectivity or during outages.
  • Limited information available
There is relatively little publicly available detail about the platform's specific features, pricing, and reliability, making it harder to evaluate thoroughly.
  • Data privacy concerns
Storing code and projects on a third-party cloud raises potential security and privacy considerations, especially for sensitive or proprietary projects.
  • Potential performance limitations
Cloud-based environments may experience latency or performance constraints compared to a powerful local development setup, depending on the service tier.
  • Vendor lock-in
Relying on a specific cloud platform may make it difficult to migrate projects elsewhere, creating dependency on the provider's continued operation and pricing.
  • Screenshots
Capture a region, window, or the full screen in one shortcut — right from the menu bar.
  • Clipboard History
Every text and image you copy is saved automatically, so you never lose a snippet again.
  • Clipboard Management
Search, favorite and re-paste past copies — your clipboard stays organized and always at hand.
  • Clipboard History Management
Browse and filter your full copy history by text or image, pin favorites, all stored 100% locally.
  • Scrolling Capture
Grab an entire scrolling page — long articles, chats or docs — as one continuous screenshot.
  • Scroll Capture
Capture content beyond the visible screen by auto-scrolling it into a single seamless image.
  • Screenshot Annotation
Mark up with arrows, shapes, text, numbered badges, blur and a zoom loupe before you share.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CodeinCloud and Cropy.it.

What makes your product unique?

Cropy.it's answer:

Cropy.it combines four tools most apps split up — screen capture, a full annotation editor, OCR, and a searchable clipboard history — into one fast, native menu-bar app for both macOS and Windows. And it does it 100% locally: no account, no cloud, no tracking. Your screenshots never leave your device. It's a one-time purchase, not another subscription.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Cropy.it's answer:

You!

We're brand new, so we don't have big-name logos to show off yet — and honestly, we love that. Every single person who tries Cropy.it matters to us, and we're genuinely excited about each new user who gives it a shot.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Cropy.it's answer:

Most alternatives do only one thing (just screenshots, or just clipboard), lock features behind a subscription, or quietly upload your captures to their cloud. Cropy.it gives you the whole flow — crop, annotate, blur, OCR, pin and clipboard history — in one app, works on Mac and Windows, keeps everything on your machine, and you pay once instead of monthly. Fast, private, and complete.

What's the story behind your product?

Cropy.it's answer:

The maker took screenshots all day and got tired of the options: tools that cost a monthly subscription, uploaded everything to a cloud, or did way too much. So they built the one they actually wanted — a fast, local screenshot + clipboard app that nails the essentials (crop, annotate, blur, OCR, history) and keeps your data with you. One-time purchase, no cloud, no account.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Cropy.it's answer:

The macOS app is native Swift / SwiftUI, using ScreenCaptureKit for capture and Apple's Vision framework for OCR, with Sparkle for updates. The Windows version is built with Electron. Licensing runs on a small self-hosted Node.js service. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Cropy.it's answer:

People who take a lot of screenshots and share them: developers, designers, support and QA teams, product managers, writers and students — on both macOS and Windows, and especially anyone who cares about privacy and doesn't want their screen content passing through someone else's cloud.

It's also a great fit for anyone working with AI tools: capture exactly what's on screen and hand a clear visual to ChatGPT, Claude or similar to explain a problem or ask for help. And with scrolling capture you can grab longer sections — or tricky, transient things like open dropdown menus and full pages — which many screenshot tools handle only partially or not at all.
