Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

CodeinCloud 5 features
Asytra Trace 3 features
  • Cloud-based development
CodeinCloud offers a cloud-based coding environment, allowing developers to write, run, and manage code from anywhere without needing to set up a local development environment.
  • Accessibility
Being web-based, the platform can be accessed from various devices and locations, making it convenient for remote work and collaboration across teams.
  • No local setup required
Users can start coding quickly without installing IDEs, compilers, or dependencies on their own machines, which lowers the barrier to entry for beginners.
  • Potential for collaboration
Cloud platforms often support real-time collaboration features, enabling multiple developers to work together on the same codebase efficiently.
  • Scalability
Cloud infrastructure can typically scale resources up or down based on project needs, which is helpful for handling varying workloads.

Possible disadvantages

  • Internet dependency
As a cloud-based service, it requires a stable internet connection to function, which can be a limitation in areas with poor connectivity or during outages.
  • Limited information available
There is relatively little publicly available detail about the platform's specific features, pricing, and reliability, making it harder to evaluate thoroughly.
  • Data privacy concerns
Storing code and projects on a third-party cloud raises potential security and privacy considerations, especially for sensitive or proprietary projects.
  • Potential performance limitations
Cloud-based environments may experience latency or performance constraints compared to a powerful local development setup, depending on the service tier.
  • Vendor lock-in
Relying on a specific cloud platform may make it difficult to migrate projects elsewhere, creating dependency on the provider's continued operation and pricing.
  • Digital work instructions
    Version-controlled guides with revision history
  • Serial-number traceability
Per-step operator, timestamp, and QC records
  • Build record export
PDF and Excel export for audits and customer questions

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CodeinCloud and Asytra Trace.

What makes your product unique?

Asytra Trace's answer:

Asytra Trace is built specifically for assembly manufacturing, not adapted from generic project management or document tools. Every instruction step is tied to a serial number, so operators execute work on the shop floor while Trace records who did what, when, and for how long.

That means measurements, QC checks, photos, supervisor sign-offs, issues, and remarks stay linked to the exact unit and step. Production and quality teams can audit a build, answer customer questions, and export build records in minutes instead of searching paper binders or separate spreadsheets.

Trace is browser-based and designed for fast adoption: teams can start with one instruction set and one line without a long IT rollout.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Asytra Trace's answer:

Most teams evaluating Trace are replacing paper work instructions, tribal knowledge, and disconnected quality forms. Trace combines version-controlled digital instructions with serial-number traceability in one shop-floor tool.

Compared with generic work-instruction or MES platforms, Trace is narrower and more practical for assembly teams: operators use it during production, supervisors see live session status, and quality can pull a complete unit history without custom integration work.

It is also part of the broader Asytra platform (Trace, Measure, Quote), so manufacturers can grow from digital instructions into inspection and quoting workflows on the same account model. A 14-day free trial makes it easy to validate on one real product before rolling out further.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Asytra Trace's answer:

Trace is aimed at manufacturing teams that need reliable assembly execution and unit-level traceability.

Typical buyers include production managers and assembly supervisors, quality engineers and compliance teams, and manufacturing engineers replacing paper instructions. Contract manufacturers, aerospace suppliers, medical device assemblers, and industrial equipment shops are a strong fit when they need to prove what happened on each serial number.

The day-to-day users are shop-floor operators and team leads running assembly sessions, with engineering and quality staff authoring instructions and reviewing build records afterward.

What's the story behind your product?

Asytra Trace's answer:

Asytra Trace grew out of a simple factory problem: paper instructions go out of date, knowledge lives with a few experienced operators, and audit prep means hunting through binders, emails, and separate QC forms.

Asytra built Trace to give assembly teams one place to publish controlled work instructions and capture what actually happened on every unit. The goal was not a multi-year MES deployment, but software operators could use on the line the same week it was introduced.

Today Trace is the execution and traceability product in the Asytra platform, alongside Measure for inspection workflows and Quote for manufacturing quoting.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Asytra Trace's answer:

Asytra Trace is a modern web application. The client is built with React and runs in the browser on the shop floor, including 3D assembly visualization where needed.

The backend uses Node.js with MongoDB for application data, shared authentication across Asytra products, and object storage for files such as photos and exported build records. The platform is delivered as a hosted SaaS service with role-based access and company licensing.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Asytra Trace's answer:

  • Contract manufacturers needing serial-number traceability for customer audits
  • Aerospace and defense suppliers documenting assembly steps per unit
  • Medical device and regulated assembly shops replacing paper work instructions
  • Industrial equipment manufacturers standardizing build records across lines
