Cost-of-living sites give you an index or crowdsourced averages. OikoSearch estimates the monthly disposable income for a personalised household profile (income, family situation) across all 2,107 Swiss municipalities, on four concrete pillars:
Tax — communal and cantonal rates from official scales (FTA/ESTV). Rent — estimated rents by dwelling size (Federal Statistical Office). Health insurance — actual LAMal reference premiums (FOPH). Quality of life — 18 filterable criteria (transport, schools, healthcare, nature, shops), up to 44 shown per municipality. Every figure carries its source and year. When an official number isn't available, OikoSearch says so and flags the value as an estimate rather than inventing precision: the detailed cantonal tax bracket is currently verified for 4 cantons (~58% of the population), the rest use an explicitly signalled approximation.
