Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CodeClimate and digabloPos.

What makes your product unique?

digabloPos's answer:

It's built offline-first for markets where internet is unreliable. Take orders, print receipts, manage stock with zero internet โ€” it syncs automatically when connected. Most POS tools require constant connectivity. digabloPos doesn't.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

digabloPos's answer:

It's 100% free. It supports 25 currencies with dual-currency conversion, works on any device (a $80 Android phone or a desktop), supports 6 languages, and works offline. Competitors like Square or Loyverse either don't work offline, charge monthly fees, or don't support African and emerging market currencies.

What's the story behind your product?

digabloPos's answer:

I saw business owners in South east asia and Africa paying $50-100/month for POS software that didn't even work when the internet dropped โ€” which happens 10 times a day. So I built a POS that works offline-first, supports local currencies, and costs nothing. I'm a solo founder building this from my laptop.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

digabloPos's answer:

Next.js, React Native (Expo), Supabase (PostgreSQL), Tailwind CSS, Stripe, Electron for desktop, and TypeScript across the entire stack.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

digabloPos's answer:

  • Small restaurants and cafรฉs
  • Retail shops
  • Pharmacies
  • Food trucks and fast-food
  • Independent retailers

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

digabloPos's answer:

Small business owners in emerging markets โ€” restaurants, cafรฉs, retail shops, pharmacies, and food trucks in Europe, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean. Businesses where internet is unreliable, budgets are tight, and existing POS solutions are too expensive or don't support local currencies.
