Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CodeClimate and BragDoc.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BragDoc's answer:

Software developers preparing for performance reviews, 1:1s, interviews

What's the story behind your product?

BragDoc's answer:

Ed Spencer built BragDoc to scratch his own itch. As a software engineer, he kept an achievements.txt file to track his work for performance reviews - but it was tedious and easy to forget. He realized most developers either do the same thing or track nothing at all, then scramble during review season. BragDoc automates what Ed did manually for years: extracting meaningful achievements from git history so developers never have to struggle to remember what they built.

What makes your product unique?

BragDoc's answer:

Built for developers, not managers. CLI runs locally, code never leaves your machine.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BragDoc's answer:

Competitors spy on developers for managers. BragDoc gives devs control of their own data.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BragDoc's answer:

TypeScript, Next.js, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Vercel AI SDK, Tailwind CSS, Cloudflare Workers
