Codeception features and specs

  • Unified Testing Framework
Codeception allows you to write tests for unit, functional, and acceptance testing in one framework, offering a consistent interface and reducing the need to switch between tools.
  • BDD Support
Codeception supports Behavior Driven Development (BDD) which enables writing human-readable test scenarios, making it easier for non-developers to understand test cases.
  • Modular Architecture
Codeceptionโ€™s modular architecture makes it highly extensible and customizable, allowing the reuse of modules and integration with popular frameworks like Symfony, Laravel, and Yii.
  • Comprehensive Suite of Helpers
It offers a wide range of helper modules for various tasks and integrations, such as interacting with web pages and SOAP/REST APIs, which simplifies the setup of tests.

Codeception has an active community and comprehensive documentation, which provides support and examples for most use cases.

Possible disadvantages of Codeception

  • Complex Setup for Beginners
The flexibility and feature set of Codeception might be overwhelming for newcomers, requiring more time to understand and correctly set up the environment.
  • Steep Learning Curve
Codeceptionโ€™s comprehensive range of functionalities and modularity may result in a steeper learning curve compared to simpler testing frameworks.
  • Overhead for Small Projects
For small projects, Codeception might be an overkill due to its complex configuration and multitude of features, which might not all be needed.
  • Heavy Dependency on PHP
As Codeception is a PHP-based testing framework, teams using multiple languages or technologies might require separate solutions for non-PHP environments.
  • Performance Overhead
Running complete acceptance tests through browsers can lead to performance overhead, especially for large test suites, possibly requiring more infrastructure and time.

Certain add-ons are designed to optimize browser performance, including tools for blocking ads and managing tabs, leading to a smoother browsing experience.
  • Developer Support
Having a supportive infrastructure encourages developers to create and maintain extensions, fostering innovation and keeping the platform current.

Possible disadvantages of Opera Add-ons

  • Security Risks
Some add-ons may pose security risks by requesting excessive permissions or containing vulnerabilities that could be exploited.
  • Compatibility Issues
Certain extensions might not be compatible with all versions of Opera or may conflict with other installed add-ons, causing functionality problems.
  • Quality Variability
The quality of add-ons can vary significantly, with some being poorly designed or maintained, which can lead to a subpar user experience.
  • Resource Consumption
Some extensions can be resource-intensive, leading to slower performance and increased power usage, particularly if many are installed simultaneously.
  • Limited Availability
Compared to more popular browsers like Chrome and Firefox, Opera may have a smaller library of extensions, limiting user choices.

10 best third party app stores for Android and other options too
Operaโ€™s App Store โ€“ Weโ€™ll be honest, we didnโ€™t know Opera had a mobile store until we started researching for this. It has a bunch of options. However, all of those options default to the Google Play Store anyway. Itโ€™s a good secondary way to browse Google Play apps, but we wouldnโ€™t necessarily call it its own apps tore.

There are many tools you can use for this purpose, but one I particularly like is CodeCeption. What I like most about it is that it's a unified tool that can be used to perform several types of tests, acceptance being one of them. - Source: dev.to / almost 4 years ago

For extensions, you can't back them up and restore them, so you'll just have to reinstall them from https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions and https://addons.opera.com/en/. If you bookmark the URL to each extension's page, and put those bookmarks in a folder, in the new Opera, you can just right-click on that bookmarks folder, choose "open all in tabs", and then click "Add to Opera" on each page to...
