I'm having some troubles with getting started with palabos. I am trying to run the first test case mentioned in the installation steps, cavity2d. It already runs into trouble at the makefile generation command, "cmake ..". The problem is that it tries to find the "libstdc++.so.6" library in my installation of openFOAM, which doesn't include the required version of "GLIBCXX". I could resolve this by manually... If you want an open source volume of fluid code go for OpenFOAM (the .com version is rather well maintained) or basilisk. If you want a lattice Boltzmann based CFD code there is OpenLB, Palabos or as mentioned below FluidX3D. Source: over 3 years ago
I git-cloned a c++ library called palabos (https://palabos.unige.ch/) multiple times, and now, whenever I try to run a base code from the library using the cmake and make command, I get a lot of unuse-parameters warnings. Source: about 4 years ago
A book I like is "Lattice Boltzmann Method and its Applications in Engineering" by Guo and Shu. The folks at Palabos also have fantastic videos and forums/documentation. Source: about 5 years ago
