Feed43 features and specs

  • Flexible Content Extraction
Users can define patterns and extraction rules to specify exactly which parts of a webpage should be included in the RSS feed. This enables highly customized feeds tailored to individual needs.
  • Free Basic Plan

  • No Technical Skills Required
The service is designed to be user-friendly, with a step-by-step interface that does not require extensive technical knowledge, allowing non-technical users to create custom feeds.

Possible disadvantages of Feed43

  • Limitations on Free Plan
The free version has limitations, such as the number of feeds you can create and the update frequency. This might not be suitable for users who need to monitor a larger number of websites or require real-time updates.
  • Manual Configuration Required
Setting up a custom feed requires manual configuration of extraction patterns, which can be complex and time-consuming, especially for users unfamiliar with HTML or CSS selectors.
  • Potential Parsing Errors
Depending on the complexity of the target webpage, there can be parsing errors if the page structure changes or the extraction rules are not correctly configured.
  • No Support for Advanced Features
Feed43 lacks some advanced features found in dedicated web scraping tools, such as handling AJAX-loaded content, which may limit its usefulness for more complex web structures.

  • Those using RSS / feed readers, what do you do about sources you're interested that don't have RSS feed or decided to drop it?
Funny you should ask, I just rebuilt my tt-rss. I installed an extension to search for any existing feeds that weren't obviously published, and found a few I didn't know about. For those that had none I looked at rss bridge at the like but most had a set list of feeds, whereas the most problematic for me were obscure web comics, so I went back to feed43 to generate a feed for them.
