Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Clustdoc and Briefbase.

What makes your product unique?

Briefbase's answer:

Briefbase is the only UGC operations tool built specifically for small agencies (2-15 people) that bring their own creators.

  • No 12-month contracts like GRIN. Month-to-month, cancel anytime.
  • No $24K/year minimum like Aspire. Plans start at $39/month.
  • No marketplace fees like Influee or Insense. You pay creators directly, with no 10% cut taken from their payouts.
  • One operations loop, end to end: briefs, deliverables, brand approvals, revisions, Meta whitelisting, and creator payouts in a single place.

Most tools are either enterprise platforms priced for big brands, or marketplaces that force you into their creator pool. Briefbase is a pure operations tool: bring your own creators, run your whole agency from one inbox.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Briefbase's answer:

  • Priced for agency margins, not enterprise budgets. $39-149/month flat, versus $399-2,000/month for GRIN or Aspire.
  • No hidden fees. Marketplaces like Influee charge a subscription plus per-video fees plus a 10% cut on creator payments. An agency paying creators $5,000/month can pay $700+ all-in on Influee versus a flat $79 on Briefbase.
  • No lock-in. Cancel anytime through Gumroad. No annual contract, no retention calls.
  • Built by a founder who answers your emails, not a sales team or a support ticket queue.
  • Niche-aware. Workflows tuned for Shopify, TikTok Shop seeding, beauty, and supplement agencies.

Choose Briefbase if you already have your own creators and just need to run operations without the enterprise price tag or the marketplace tax.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Briefbase's answer:

  • Next.js (React framework) for the web application
  • TypeScript for type-safe code
  • Tailwind CSS for styling
  • Vercel for hosting and deployment
  • Gumroad for global billing and subscription management

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Briefbase's answer:

Small UGC (user-generated content) agencies of 2-15 people, managing 5-40 brand clients and 20-150 creators.

This includes: - Freelance UGC managers and solo operators running multiple brand accounts - Small creative shops producing paid social content for ecommerce brands - Agencies focused on Shopify brands, TikTok Shop seeding, Meta Ads creative, beauty, supplement, and fitness niches

The common thread: they have outgrown spreadsheets and WhatsApp, but enterprise tools like GRIN and Aspire are too expensive and too complex for their size.

What's the story behind your product?

Briefbase's answer:

Briefbase was built by a solo developer in Antalya, Turkey, after seeing the same pattern over and over: UGC agencies start with a spreadsheet, a Drive folder, and a dozen WhatsApp threads. It works until around the fifth brand and fifteenth creator, when the founder turns into a full-time logistics manager and the creative work suffers.

The big tools (GRIN, Aspire, CreatorIQ) are built for enterprise brands with enterprise budgets and annual contracts. The free tools come and go with their funding. There was nothing built for the small agency that just needs to get briefs out, collect deliverables, get approvals, and pay creators, without an enterprise price tag.

Briefbase is that missing tool: one home for the entire agency operations loop, priced for the agencies that actually need it.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Briefbase's answer:

Briefbase is in open beta and onboarding its first agencies. As an early-stage independent product, we are not publishing customer names yet out of respect for their privacy. Case studies and named customers will be added as our beta agencies opt in.
