Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CloudShell and NotaryLive.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

NotaryLive's answer:

Nationwide, Spencer Fane, Foxit, Filevine, and PostScanMail

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

NotaryLive's answer:

NotaryLive's audience covers a variety of consumers from individuals, to businesses across all industries and use cases.

What makes your product unique?

NotaryLive's answer:

NotaryLive is currently the only platform that offers a white-label solution.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

NotaryLive's answer:

It comes down to four things competitors struggle to match together:

Ownership of the customer relationship. Notaries and businesses keep their clients; they don't hand them to a platform. The White Label experience means your customer sees your brand, not NotaryLive's.

Pricing that scales without punishing growth. No per-seat fees on Business accounts. Pay-per-session for individuals, subscription tiers for higher volume.

Real speed for real people. ~10-minute sessions, on-demand notaries, no appointments. For anyone who's ever needed a power of attorney, title document, or affidavit notarized on a deadline, that's the entire ballgame.

Industry credibility where it matters. MERS RON Video Repository participation, Foxit integration, MISMO involvement, and active onboarding in different states signal to lenders, title companies, and legal teams that NotaryLive plays at compliance standards real estate and legal industries require.

What's the story behind your product?

NotaryLive's answer:

NotaryLive was founded by Joshua Stankard, who saw the same gap most people only notice when they suddenly need a notary at 8 p.m. on a Sunday: the traditional notarization process is built around the signer's schedule.

Searching for a "notary near me," driving across town, paying mobile notary premiums, scheduling appointments days out; for a five-minute legal formality.

As states began approving remote online notarization laws, Joshua built NotaryLive around a different idea than most early entrants: instead of competing with the country's millions of notaries, build the platform for them.

Give notaries the technology to serve their own clients online, keep their relationships, and earn more; while giving everyday signers and businesses an on-demand way to get documents notarized in minutes.

Today NotaryLive is onboarding notaries across numerous states and serves individuals, small businesses, and enterprises in legal, real estate, financial services, and healthcare ;built on the original premise: notarization should fit into your life, and notaries should own their business.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

NotaryLive's answer:

Live audio/video conferencing to power the real-time notary session between signer and notary in-browser, with no app download required.

KBA (Knowledge-Based Authentication) and credential analysis: for identity verification, integrated through standard third-party identity proofing providers used across the RON industry.

Tamper-evident digital signature and PKI/cryptographic sealing: applied to each notarized document so any post-signing alteration is detectable.

Encrypted cloud storage with MERS RON Video Repository integration: for session recordings and notary journals, meeting the storage/retention standards required by state RON laws and the mortgage industry.

API (API V2): available on Business Premier accounts, enabling third-party platforms (like Foxit and other partners) to embed notarization and eSign into their own workflows.

Modern responsive web stack: the product runs in any standard browser on desktop, tablet, or mobile, requiring only camera, microphone, and internet access.
