Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CloudConvert and Toolzey.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Toolzey's answer:

Anyone doing everyday digital chores without wanting to install software or hand over an email address for it students formatting assignments, freelancers prepping client files and invoices, small business owners handling quick admin tasks, and developers who need a fast JSON formatter or hash generator without opening an IDE

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Toolzey's answer:

Worth flagging: Toolzey doesn't have named customers in the traditional B2B sense it's free, anonymous, no accounts or login so there's genuinely nothing here to list accurately, and I didn't want to make up names just to fill the field. If the form requires something, I'd list audience segments instead of company names: Freelancers, Small business owners, Students, Web developers. If it's optional, I'd just leave it blank.

What makes your product unique?

Toolzey's answer:

Everything runs client-side in the browser — nothing you upload (an image, a PDF, a block of text) ever touches a server. Most "free" tool sites still process your file somewhere in the backend even if they don't advertise it; Toolzey just doesn't have a backend to process it on. There's also no account, no email gate, and no artificial daily limit pushing you toward a paid tier. All 124 tools are fully usable from the first visit.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Toolzey's answer:

Most competitors pick one lane PDF only, or image only and make you bounce between three or four different sites to finish one task. Toolzey covers PDF, image, text, converters, developer utilities, and calculators in one place, so a task like "compress this image, then convert this PDF, then check this password's strength" doesn't require three separate tabs and three separate sign-ups. Combined with the privacy angle and zero cost, it's built for people who just want the task done without friction.

What's the story behind your product?

Toolzey's answer:

Started from the same annoyance most people have run into: needing to do something small and one-off resize an image, merge two PDFs — and every "free" tool online wanting an account or email first for what should be a 10-second task. Toolzey started as a handful of tools to fix that specific frustration and grew into 124 as more everyday tasks kept coming up worth solving the same way.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Toolzey's answer:

HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, hosted on Netlify. Deliberately kept framework-light so every tool runs entirely in the browser with no backend processing required
