Engineering teams can measure AI cost and usage by engineer, see cost per merged PR across tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, and attribute production AI costs to customers, features, teams, or projects.

SuperPenguin is built for engineering leaders, AI and platform teams, and finance or FinOps teams at companies with growing AI spend. It is especially useful for teams using multiple AI providers or coding tools that want to understand AI costs by engineer, PR, customer, feature, team, or project.

What's the story behind your product?

SuperPenguin's answer:

SuperPenguin was built by Carrot Labs, a Y Combinator W26 company, around a simple question: where is all the money being spent on AI, and is it actually creating value?

As AI usage spread across providers and coding agents, companies were left stitching together billing dashboards, usage data, and spreadsheets to understand their costs. SuperPenguin was created to make AI spend understandable at the level businesses actually operate: customers, features, teams, engineers, and pull requests.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

SuperPenguin's answer:

TypeScript, Next.js, Electron, Python, Supabase/PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform. SuperPenguin also integrates with GitHub and the billing and usage APIs of major AI providers.
