What makes your product unique?

Kostora's answer:

Kostora is an Azure-first governance platform built around actions, not dashboards. It identifies specific cost and governance issues, shows the estimated monthly impact, and tells engineering teams exactly what to fix. Unlike broad multi-cloud platforms, Kostora focuses deeply on Azure and is designed for mid-market teams without dedicated FinOps or governance teams.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Kostora's answer:

Kostora combines Azure depth with a self-serve experience and transparent pricing. It focuses on actionable findings rather than complex dashboards: what is wrong, what it is costing you, and what to do about it. It is designed for mid-market engineering teams that need practical Azure governance without the complexity and enterprise pricing of traditional platforms.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Kostora's answer:

Mid-market engineering teams running significant workloads on Microsoft Azure, typically with 20โ€“500 people and $10Kโ€“$100K+ in monthly Azure spend. The primary buyers are VPs of Engineering, Heads of Infrastructure, CTOs, and engineering leaders who don't have dedicated FinOps, security, or compliance teams.

What's the story behind your product?

Kostora's answer:

Kostora was built around a simple observation: cloud governance tools often give teams dashboards and data but leave the hard part "deciding what to fix" to the engineering team. Kostora takes the opposite approach: identify the most important issues, quantify their impact, and give teams a clear action to take. It started with Azure cost waste and is being built toward a broader Azure cost, security, and compliance governance platform.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Kostora's answer:

Backend: .NET 10, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, PostgreSQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure Key Vault and Microsoft MSAL. Frontend: React, Vite and TypeScript. Infrastructure is managed with Terraform on Azure. Resend is used for transactional email, and AI is used only for finding narration; detection itself is rule-based.

Kostora is currently in its early beta stage and does not yet have major customers to list publicly.
