Clox is time tracking built for hourly trades and field crews: electricians, plumbers, HVAC, roofers, landscapers, general contractors, and other field teams. Workers clock in from their phones in one tap. Punches work offline and sync when signal returns, every hour is tagged to a job and task for costing, and geofenced worksites block off-site clock-ins for the crews you choose. Crews that share one device can punch with a PIN on a tablet kiosk, with an optional clock-in photo. Managers approve the week on the web, and overtime, breaks, lunch rules, and multi-rate pay calculate automatically. Exports are payroll-ready for QuickBooks Online and Desktop, ADP RUN, ADP Workforce Now, Paychex Flex, and Gusto, so there's no re-keying. Every punch is signed and tamper-evident, and anyone can verify a record at getclox.com/verify. One plan with everything included: $29 a month covers 3 users, then $6 per user. Free 14-day trial, no credit card, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Clock Deck and Clox.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Clox's answer:

Trades and field service businesses whose crews work on job sites: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, landscaping, roofing, cleaning, and property maintenance. The buyer is usually the owner or the office admin who runs payroll. The daily users are crews who want to tap once and get back to work.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Clox's answer:

Most time trackers are either simple timers built for offices or workforce platforms built around monitoring, with screenshots and activity scores. Clox is neither. Crews get one-tap punches that work offline. Owners get geofencing, job costing, drag-and-drop scheduling, and payroll-ready exports for QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, and Paychex. And nobody's location is tracked between punches. One plan, every feature, no per-feature tiers.

What makes your product unique?

Clox's answer:

Clox is time tracking for trades and field crews. Location works differently here: it's captured only at the moment of clock-in, so managers see a map of where punches happened without tracking anyone between punches. Off-site clock-ins are blocked by geofence, every punch joins a signed, tamper-evident record that anyone can verify, and everything ships on one plan with every feature included.

What's the story behind your product?

Clox's answer:

Clox comes from watching small trades companies run payroll off texted hours, wet paper timecards, and guesswork, while the software options were either toy timers or surveillance platforms crews hate. We built the middle path: accurate, verifiable hours with respect for the crew. That's why location is captured only at punches and why off-site clock-ins are blocked instead of silently flagged.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Clox's answer:

Next.js and React on the web, React Native for the iOS and Android apps, and PostgreSQL for data. Punch records are hash-chained server-side, which is what makes exported timesheets independently verifiable.
