We began working on Cursion to help our fellow developers understand how their sites and web apps change after deployments.
The platform specifically aims to discover the small differences a human might otherwise miss by painstakingly comparing Megabytes of data collected on each site.
Notable features: Visual Regression Testing, Site Performance Metrics, Unit Testing, Client Reports, and a whole lot more.

Cursion's answer:
Scanerr began like so many other software tools, the founder solving their own problems.
The first iteration of Scanerr was a simple Python script used to ensure the founder's websites didn't break after updates.
Not long after, a few companies reached out and wanted to use the technology for their own processes - and Scanerr was born!
Cursion's answer:
We're fortunate to serve companies of all sizes. From the enterprise to the startup, Scanerr is constantly helping developers and teams uncover bugs, bottlenecks, and breaking changes to their web apps.
Most of our customers are from the web development, hosting, and digital marketing industries.
Cursion's answer:
Scanerr provides a comprehensive assessment of your website by collecting and analyzing the Page Source, Console Errors/Warnings, Screenshots, and over 70 Performance Metrics. Scanerr also uses an Advanced, Proprietary Algorithm for detecting visual changes on a website in real-time.
Cursion's answer:
Unlike its competitors, Scanerr performs Regression Testing by comparing more than just screenshots. By combining our Advanced, Proprietary Visual Regression Algorithm, and over 70 Performance Metrics with Browser data - Scanerr provides a holistic assessment of your site's health and stability.
Expensive, and the pricing model changed, but it just works. I hope more competitors release equally good quality to have a more fair pricing model in the longrun.
So Iโve been playing around with Claude for a bit, and hereโs the vibe:
Honestly, it feels way more chill than a lot of other AI tools. Itโs super polite, doesnโt jump into assumptions too fast, and gives responses that are easy to read like talking to a thoughtful friend rather than someone in a hurry. Itโs surprisingly good at breaking down complex stuff into simple terms without sounding condescending, which I really appreciate.
In terms of creativity, Claude does pretty well โ whether I ask for a poem, a short story, or help brainstorming ideas, it doesnโt just give cookie-cutter replies. Thereโs a bit of personality there, like it tries to make things interesting rather than just factual.
On the downside? Sometimes it plays it a bit too safe. If you push for a bold opinion or a more adventurous answer, itโll often stay in the middle-of-the-road lane. And for niche topics, itโs not always as sharp as some other models unless you give super clear instructions.
Also, itโs fast no long pauses or overcomplicated explanations which makes it nice for quick back-and-forth.
Claude Sonnet 3.5 is amazing for coding! I used to use the chat interface and copy-paste, but now I use aider.chat. Aider works in a git repo and forces Claude to only make the changes you requested. Changes are easy to revert.
A downside: Code is not always what I want. I try to make it do work in small chunks and this helps. Excels at writing boilerplate-y code that tends to be a little different on different websites.
Two helpful styles of prompts:
Using it for Python/Django/HTMX/AlpineJS. Django templates mixed with JS are no problem.

โ In 2024, Apple released a technical paper revealing that "Apple Intelligence" was trained on TPUs, bypassing NVIDIA entirely โ Top AI models like Claude (Anthropic), Midjourney, and Character.ai rely heavily on Google because they offer better performance-per-dollar for massive Transformer models. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
Drop an image into Claude or ChatGPT asking it to "recreate this." The result? The LLM guesses styles. Is that padding 16px or 24px? Is that blue #3b82f6 or #2563eb? Is the shadow 0 2px 8px or 0 4px 12px? Pure hallucination. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
