Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CircleCI and Taskrol.

What makes your product unique?

Taskrol's answer:

Taskrol was built from running an appliance repair company, not adapted from a generic CRM. Its workflow follows a real service call: create the customer and job together, schedule and dispatch it, keep appliance and repair history, find manuals and parts by model number, track van and warehouse inventory, prepare the estimate and invoice, and collect payment. It also addresses trade-specific loss points with diagnostic authorization before work, warranty callback tracking, technician pay by margin or hourly rate, and multi-company access without repeated logins. Solo technicians can use a free plan, while growing teams use the same workflow across web, iOS, and Android.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Taskrol's answer:

Choose Taskrol when your work is appliance repair and you want the shortest practical path from the first call to getting paid. The product keeps jobs, customers, appliance history, scheduling, parts, inventory, estimates, invoices, payments, calls, and SMS in one connected workflow. Technicians can work from iOS or Android while owners and dispatchers use the web app. The free Solo plan lets a one-person shop start without a monthly subscription; paid plans add team workflows as the business grows. The focus is reducing duplicate entry and keeping field information attached to the actual job.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Taskrol's answer:

Taskrol is for appliance repair businesses: solo owner-technicians, small multi-technician shops, dispatchers, office staff, and subcontractors who complete service calls in the field. Owners use it to see jobs, money, parts, inventory, technician pay, and reporting. Dispatchers use scheduling, maps, assignments, calls, and SMS. Technicians use the mobile app for job details, appliance history, parts lookup, timers, estimates, invoices, payments, and customer signatures. It is most useful to teams that want appliance-specific workflows rather than a general-purpose sales CRM.

What's the story behind your product?

Taskrol's answer:

Taskrol came from Oleg's own appliance repair company. The repairs were not the problem; the work around them was. Working with several companies meant switching apps and logins throughout the day. Parts were hard to find in the van. Weekly reports had to be reconstructed from payments, receipts, messages, and memory. Important details were lost between the technician, office, supplier, and customer.

Taskrol was built to remove that duplicate work. Quick Job creates the customer and job together. Appliance history and parts manuals stay with the job. Inventory reflects vans and warehouses. Reports are built from real jobs and parts. The design rule is simple: follow the shortest path from the call to getting paid, and only ship features that solve problems encountered in the field.
