Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Cheapstack.dev and Startupbolt.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Cheapstack.dev's answer

Lower price (80% less than ShipFast/MakerKit), Polar.sh for global payments, all 8 kits available in a $79 bundle, and built with latest Next.js 16.

Startupbolt's answer:

Iโ€™ve built it while addressing many of the flaws in existing boilerplates:
- Almost all components are server components, while our competitors often use client components, which add to the JS bundle size and slow the website.
- It has a credit system to give access to products rather than a single boolean provided by our competitors. This means you can use it to create AI appsโ€”for example, if a person pays $100, you can give them 1000 credits, which can be reduced as they use AI features (like API calls to Replicate, OpenAI, or your custom AI pipeline).
- It has native implementation for Meta Ads (conversion API and pixel with deduplication), X Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Clarity.
- StartupBolt comes with shadcn for theming, which is the current benchmark for Next.js app developers.

What's the story behind your product?

Cheapstack.dev's answer

Built by a solo developer who couldn't use most boilerplates because they required Stripe (unavailable in many countries). CheapStack solves this with Polar.sh payments.

Startupbolt's answer:

I graduated from IIT (the same college as Sundar Pichai) and dove into startups in 2014.

Over the years, I launched multiple web apps, each taking over a year, and when they failed, it hurt. But I didn't give up. After years of building apps that took too long and didn't work out, I figured things out.

Since 2017, I've generated over $4 million in revenue, consistently hitting $2,000 daily. I ran a lot of ads for my products. The key lesson? Launch quickly and get profitable fast.

I built StartupBolt to solve a problem I kept facing: repeating the same code and processes for each new project.

With StartupBolt, you can: 1. Launch fast - even in 30 minutes if your business logic is ready. 2. Start simple and iterate based on real user feedback. 3. Avoid common technical pitfalls that slow down most founders.

It's the tool I use for all my launches now, and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.

What makes your product unique?

Cheapstack.dev's answer

One-time pricing starting at $19 with Polar.sh payments that work in 130+ countries, while competitors charge $199-$649 and require Stripe (46 countries only).

Startupbolt's answer:

It is a Next.js boilerplate that can be used to launch SaaS products fast. Focus on what truly matters โ€” your core product โ€” while we handle the rest. With StartupBolt, you can launch fastโ€”even in 30 minutes if your business logic is ready.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Cheapstack.dev's answer

Indie developers and bootstrapped founders building SaaS products on a budget, especially those outside Stripe-supported countries.

Startupbolt's answer:

Startupbolt's answer:
