Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ChatSnapAI and GitHub Copilot.

What makes your product unique?

ChatSnapAI's answer

ChatSnapAI combines AI conversation export, privacy scanning, redaction, backups, notes, and integrity-focused record tools in one local-first browser extension.

It supports ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini across Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Conversation content is processed on the user’s device rather than uploaded to ChatSnapAI servers, helping users protect sensitive information while preserving important AI work in useful formats such as PDF, Word, Markdown, JSON, CSV, TXT, HTML, EPUB, and PNG.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ChatSnapAI's answer

Many AI chat tools focus on a single platform or only one task such as exporting a conversation. ChatSnapAI is designed as a broader conversation-protection and preservation toolkit.

Users can export, scan for sensitive information, redact selected details, create local backups, maintain notes, and use integrity-focused record tools across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. It is available for both Chrome and Microsoft Edge and is built around local-first processing rather than requiring conversation content to be uploaded to ChatSnapAI servers.

ChatSnapAI also has a useful Free tier, while Pro is priced at $1.99/month or $19.99/year.

What's the story behind your product?

ChatSnapAI's answer

ChatSnapAI was created around a simple problem: AI conversations are becoming valuable work products, but they are often difficult to preserve, organize, protect, and move outside the original AI platform.

What began as a way to create better AI conversation exports grew into a broader local-first toolkit for protecting and preserving AI work. ChatSnapAI now combines export, privacy scanning, redaction, local backups, notes, integrity verification, and other workflow tools while keeping conversation processing on the user’s device.

The goal is to make important AI conversations easier to keep, safer to share, and more useful long after the original chat ends.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ChatSnapAI's answer

  • Google Chrome Manifest V3 browser-extension architecture
  • Microsoft Edge extension platform
  • JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Browser local storage and extension APIs
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • Cloudflare D1
  • Stripe for Pro subscriptions and billing
  • Ed25519-signed entitlement licensing
  • Local-first conversation processing
  • SHA-256 integrity verification

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ChatSnapAI's answer

ChatSnapAI is for people who rely on AI conversations for work, research, writing, coding, education, planning, documentation, or other important workflows.

It is especially useful for privacy-conscious users, professionals who need durable records of AI-assisted work, researchers and students who want clean exports, and anyone who uses ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini heavily enough that important conversations should not remain trapped inside a browser tab.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

ChatSnapAI's answer

ChatSnapAI is an early-stage product and does not currently publish customer names or customer-size rankings.
