SillyTavern fixed the memory problem but demanded API keys, installs and technical setup most people don't want to deal with. Chatbrat started as an attempt to get the best of both: the ease of a browser-based chat app with memory and customization that actually holds up over long conversations. It's still actively being developed based on user feedback.
