CertPilot is an IT governance evidence platform for lean IT teams, MSPs, and web agencies that need a clearer way to track recurring operational risk without building an enterprise GRC program.

The product combines automated public-signal checks with customer-maintained registers, then turns both into management-ready PDF evidence reports. Teams use CertPilot to monitor domains, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS records, email authentication records, renewal dates, vendor ownership, people and accounts, assets, systems, and access reviews from one workspace.

Core capabilities include: - Daily public checks for SSL/TLS validity and expiry, RDAP/domain registration data, DNS records, DNS changes, email authentication DNS records, and selected public vendor status feeds. - Manual-first registers for renewals and vendors, people and accounts, hardware and software assets, systems, access reviews, domain governance notes, SSL readiness notes, and email sending sources. - CSV import and export for moving existing spreadsheets into structured records without losing portability. - On-demand PDF reports, including Domain Health, Renewal Risk, Monthly Proof, Weekly Governance, Access Review Register, and Governance Evidence Pack. - Sample reports built with fictional data so buyers can inspect the report format before relying on the product.

CertPilot is designed for teams that need evidence, ownership, review status, and plain-English reporting more than another raw monitoring dashboard. It is especially useful when renewal lists, domain records, access review spreadsheets, and asset records are scattered across inboxes, spreadsheets, registrars, hosting providers, and vendor dashboards.

CertPilot is best suited to lean internal IT teams at 50-500 employee companies, MSPs managing operational evidence for clients, and web agencies responsible for client domains, SSL, DNS, renewals, and client-ready reports.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CertPilot.app and CodeClimate.

What's the story behind your product?

CertPilot.app's answer

The story behind CertPilot is the gap between โ€œwe probably have this under controlโ€ and โ€œwe can prove it.โ€

Many small teams are responsible for domains, certificates, DNS records, renewals, assets, accounts, systems, and access reviews, but the evidence is scattered across spreadsheets, inboxes, vendor dashboards, and old files. When management, a client, an insurer, or an auditor asks for proof, the team has to rebuild the picture manually.

CertPilot was built to make that evidence easier to maintain and easier to present. It turns public checks and operational registers into dated, plain-English PDF reports, so lean teams can show what was checked, what is owned, what needs review, and what has already been completed.

The goal is practical governance evidence, not surveillance, certification, or enterprise complexity.

What makes your product unique?

CertPilot.app's answer

CertPilot is built around a simple model: checks + registers โ†’ evidence.

It combines automated public-signal checks with customer-maintained operational registers, then turns both into management-ready PDF evidence reports. That means teams can track domains, SSL certificates, DNS records, email authentication, renewals, vendors, people, assets, systems, and access reviews in one workspace.

Unlike a basic monitor, CertPilot does not stop at alerts. Unlike a spreadsheet, it creates structured records with owners, dates, review status, and exportable evidence. Unlike an enterprise GRC platform, it stays lightweight enough for lean IT teams, MSPs, and agencies to use without a long implementation project.

CertPilot is also deliberately read-only and metadata-first. It helps teams organize and report governance evidence without employee monitoring, mailbox scanning, automatic SaaS discovery, or compliance-certification claims.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

CertPilot.app's answer

A person should choose CertPilot when they need management-ready IT governance evidence, not just another alert dashboard.

SSL monitors, uptime tools, registrar dashboards, and spreadsheets each solve part of the problem. CertPilot brings the recurring evidence work together: public checks for domains, SSL, DNS, email authentication, and vendor status; registers for renewals, people, accounts, assets, systems, and access reviews; and on-demand PDF reports that can be shared with management, clients, insurers, or auditors.

It is especially useful for small teams that need a practical operating layer before they are ready for enterprise GRC, SIEM, MDM, RMM, or connector-heavy platforms. CertPilot keeps adoption lower-risk by using public technical signals and customer-entered records instead of requiring deep access to internal systems.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

CertPilot.app's answer

CertPilot is built for lean internal IT teams, MSPs, web agencies, and founder/operator teams that are responsible for recurring IT governance work without a large security, compliance, or operations function.

The primary audience is an IT manager, IT operations lead, MSP owner, service delivery manager, agency operations lead, CTO, COO, or founder who needs clearer evidence that important IT records are under control.

These teams often rely on spreadsheets, registrar dashboards, hosting portals, vendor tools, calendar reminders, and ad hoc email threads. CertPilot gives them a structured way to track the records and produce management-ready evidence reports.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CertPilot.app's answer

CertPilot is built as a modern web application using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Supabase/Postgres, Vercel, and Resend.

The product uses server-side checks for public technical signals such as SSL/TLS certificates, RDAP/domain registration data, DNS records, email authentication DNS records, and public vendor status feeds. Customer-maintained registers are stored in Postgres through Supabase, with CSV import/export support for moving spreadsheet records in and out.

Evidence reports are generated as PDF files inside the application. The platform is designed as a web-based SaaS product with authenticated workspaces, dashboard modules, public tools, and on-demand report generation.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

CertPilot.app's answer

  • CertPilot does not publicly disclose customer names yet.
  • The product is currently positioned for lean IT teams, MSPs, web agencies, and founder/operator teams that need management-ready IT governance evidence.
  • Public demo reports and screenshots use fictional data only.
