FoundRole is an AI job-search and application-tracking platform for people who want to find relevant roles, evaluate them before applying, and keep their search organized.

The platform combines live job discovery with practical information that helps candidates decide whether a listing is worth pursuing. Search by title, location, company, salary, posting date, remote work, and other criteria. Review whether a job appears active, how its pay compares with the market, whether the employer has work-visa sponsorship signals, and its Ghost Grade, which helps identify listings that may be stale or unlikely to be actively hiring.

FoundRole includes:

  • A large, hourly updated job index across industries and locations
  • Job matching that compares a job description with a resume, highlights relevant experience and missing skills, and shows where an application can be improved
  • Resume Studio for creating, tailoring, organizing, and improving resume versions for specific roles
  • Salary benchmarks, market context, employer information, and sponsorship signals
  • Ghost Grade and listing-quality signals for evaluating job-posting reliability
  • A visual Kanban job tracker for saved jobs and applications, with stages such as Saved, Applied, Interview, Offer, and Archive
  • Application notes, contacts, deadlines, timelines, and follow-up reminders
  • Interview-preparation resources and salary-negotiation guidance

FoundRole also provides an MCP connector for ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Cursor, Perplexity, and other compatible AI clients. Users can search live openings, compare roles, analyze a job description, save a job, update an application stage, add notes, and manage follow-ups from a conversation with their AI assistant.

FoundRole is free to search and track jobs. The platform brings job discovery, job evaluation, resume tailoring, application tracking, and career guidance into one workflow.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Canva and FoundRole.

What's the story behind your product?

FoundRole's answer:

FoundRole was built around a simple problem: a job search usually gets split across too many places. People search on several job boards, save links in browser tabs, track applications in spreadsheets, rewrite resumes for each role, and still lack enough context to know whether a listing is active or worth pursuing.

We built FoundRole as one workflow for the job seeker. It combines live job discovery, job-posting checks, resume tailoring, application tracking, and career guidance in the same product.

A user can search for a role, review fit and listing-quality signals, compare salary and sponsorship context, tailor a resume in Resume Studio, and track the application on a Kanban board. FoundRole also connects to compatible AI assistants through MCP, so job search and application-management tasks can happen from a conversation as well as in the web app.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

FoundRole's answer:

FoundRole is built as a cloud-based web platform for live job discovery, job-market data processing, application tracking, and AI-assisted career workflows.

The product continuously reads employer hiring systems, refreshes its job index hourly, and processes millions of job postings through data pipelines that classify, de-duplicate, match, and score listings.

FoundRole uses its own fine-tuned neural language models trained on job-market data. These models help normalize differently worded job titles, understand search intent beyond keyword overlap, build structured candidate profiles from resumes, and match a candidate's experience with the requirements in a job posting.

The platform keeps different tasks separate by design:

  • AI models are used for semantic search, job-title normalization, resume understanding, skills matching, job-fit scoring, and large-scale inference across the index
  • Job-posting activity, market-pay context, and visa-sponsorship signals are computed from employer records and public government filings rather than generated by a chatbot
  • The application tracker stores saved jobs, stages, notes, deadlines, reminders, and follow-up activity in a private user workspace
  • An MCP server connects FoundRole's live job search, job analysis, tracker, reminders, and career tools to compatible AI assistants

FoundRole can be used on the web or through MCP-compatible AI clients, including ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Cursor, and Perplexity. The MCP integration does not require users to manage an API key.

What makes your product unique?

FoundRole's answer:

FoundRole treats a job listing as something to verify, not simply another link to rank.

The platform reads openings from employer hiring systems and refreshes its index hourly. Before a job is shown, FoundRole connects it to the employer behind it and adds information candidates would otherwise have to research themselves: job-posting quality signals, market-pay context from filed wage records, visa-sponsorship history from public immigration filings, and a Ghost Grade based on multiple independent checks.

The platform deliberately separates evidence-based verdicts from AI inference. Whether a job appears active, what comparable wages were filed, and whether an employer has sponsorship filings are derived from records. FoundRole's own fine-tuned language models are used where language understanding matters: semantic job search, job-title normalization, resume reading, candidate-to-role matching, and skills-gap analysis.

FoundRole then brings that research into the rest of the application workflow: Resume Studio for role-specific resume versions, a Kanban tracker for applications and follow-ups, and an MCP connector that lets users search, analyze, save, and manage jobs inside ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Cursor, Perplexity, and other compatible AI clients.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

FoundRole's answer:

FoundRole is designed for job seekers who want to make better decisions before they spend time applying.

It combines three parts of a job search that are often handled separately: finding live openings, checking the evidence behind a listing, and managing the application process. Users can search jobs from employer hiring systems, review job-quality and Ghost Grade signals, compare pay with filed wage records, check visa-sponsorship history, and see how their resume matches the specific role.

After deciding to apply, users can tailor a resume in Resume Studio and manage applications, interviews, notes, deadlines, and follow-ups in a Kanban tracker.

FoundRole also works through an MCP connector, so the same search, job-analysis, and tracking tools are available inside ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Cursor, Perplexity, and other compatible AI clients. The free tier includes job search and per-listing fact checks; Pro adds deeper screening, complete match analysis, full sponsorship and wage context, and advanced resume tools.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

FoundRole's answer:

FoundRole is for people actively looking for a job, managing several applications, or planning a career change.

Its primary audience includes recent graduates entering the job market, professionals changing jobs, industries, or locations, people returning to work, and candidates managing multiple interviews, applications, deadlines, and follow-ups at once.

It is particularly useful for job seekers who want more than a list of openings. They can search roles from employer hiring systems, assess whether a listing appears active, review market-pay and visa-sponsorship signals, see how their resume matches the role, tailor materials in Resume Studio, and manage the process in a visual application tracker.

FoundRole also serves people who prefer to use AI assistants as part of their job-search workflow. Through its MCP connector, users can search and compare roles, analyze postings, save jobs, update application stages, and manage reminders in ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Cursor, Perplexity, and other compatible AI clients.

Powerful design platform with great usability

Canva is one of the most accessible design platforms available today. It significantly lowers the barrier to creating presentations, social graphics, marketing materials, and even short videos.

The interface is intuitive, especially for non-designers. Templates are well organized, and collaboration features make it practical for teams.

Strengths: - Very easy to use - Large template library - Strong collaboration tools - Fast cloud-based workflow

Limitations: - Advanced layout control is sometimes restricted - Heavier projects can feel limited compared to professional desktop tools

Overall, Canva succeeds at simplifying design for everyday creators while maintaining enough flexibility for professional use cases.

Easy and Versatile Design Tool — Great for Quick Projects

I’ve been using Canva for everything from social media graphics to presentations and simple flyers, and it’s one of the most accessible design tools I’ve encountered. The drag-and-drop interface makes it really easy to produce clean, visually appealing designs even if you don’t have a background in graphic design. The huge template and asset library means I rarely start from scratch.

It integrates well with cloud storage and collaborative editing, which makes working with team members or clients straightforward. For quick turnaround projects, Canva gets me from idea to finished design in minutes — no steep learning curve.

That said, some of the better assets and premium features (like certain templates, background removers, and export options) are locked behind Canva Pro, which adds ongoing cost. And while Canva is excellent for basic to intermediate design, it doesn’t replace professional tools like Adobe Illustrator or InDesign when you need fine-tuned control or advanced features.

Overall, Canva is a fantastic tool for fast, easy design work — especially for non-designers

Pros:    Extremely user-friendly drag-and-drop design interface.
Cons:    Ome useful features and assets are locked behind the pro plan.
