Camp Power Calc helps you figure out how big a battery, solar panel, and inverter you actually need for off-grid camping and van life. It goes through your real appliance list โ€” fridge, lights, phone, heater โ€” and shows the watt-hours, not just a single number. No login, runs entirely in the browser.

Analysis of CppDB - SQL Connectivity Library

Overall verdict

  • CppDB is a solid, lightweight choice for developers needing a portable C++ SQL database access layer, especially if they are already using CppCMS or prefer a simple, low-overhead alternative to heavier ORM frameworks.

Why this product is good

  • Simple, clean API design that is relatively easy to learn for developers familiar with C++.

Recommended for

  • Developers building C++ web applications, especially those using CppCMS.
  • Projects requiring lightweight database connectivity without the overhead of full ORM systems.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CampPowerCalc and CppDB - SQL Connectivity Library.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

CampPowerCalc's answer

Because it's built by someone who actually camps off-grid. The appliance library comes from real gear lists (not marketing specs), the output shows watt-hours per device (not just a total), and you can tweak individual items to see how adding a 12V fridge or swapping LED bulbs changes your battery needs. No signup, no app download, no email capture โ€” open the page, run the numbers, done.

What makes your product unique?

CampPowerCalc's answer

Most camping power calculators give you a single "you need X Ah" number and stop there. CampPowerCalc breaks it down by appliance โ€” fridge, lights, phone charger, heater โ€” so you can see exactly what's drawing power, adjust the list, and understand the tradeoffs. It supports 6 languages, runs entirely in your browser with no server upload, and is built from real van life and RV camper feedback rather than generic assumptions.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

CampPowerCalc's answer

Van lifers, RV owners, overlanders, and car campers who are planning or upgrading their off-grid electrical setup. Also useful for pre-purchase research โ€” figuring out whether a 100Ah battery or 200W solar panel actually covers their real load before buying gear.

What's the story behind your product?

CampPowerCalc's answer

I built it after spending weeks reading Reddit threads (r/vandwellers, r/overlanding) and forum posts where people kept asking the same question: "How big a battery do I really need?" Every answer was either a spreadsheet link or a vague "it depends." CampPowerCalc turns that spreadsheet into an interactive tool that walks through your actual appliance list and shows the math.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CampPowerCalc's answer

Vanilla JavaScript with a static frontend hosted on Cloudflare Pages. No backend, no database, no user accounts โ€” all calculation happens locally in the browser. The site uses next-intl for 6-language support (English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese) with hand-written native translations.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

CampPowerCalc's answer

Van conversion DIYers Overland vehicle builders RV campers planning boondocking trips Outdoor gear reviewers sizing power setups Pre-purchase researchers comparing battery/solar configurations
