Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CalcMojo and Opalstack.

What makes your product unique?

CalcMojo's answer

Three things:

India calculators built around how Indian taxes actually work. The income tax tool compares old vs new regime side-by-side because that's the real decision people face, not just "what's my tax." Same with SIP, EMI, PPF, HRA, gratuity. Built for Indian filers, not bolted on as an afterthought.

Every calculator explains the math. Below each tool there's a worked example, the actual formula, and answers to common questions. If you want to know why the number is what it is, the page tells you. Most calculator sites just give you the number and leave.

No signup, no email wall, no popup. Open the page, calculate, leave. That's it.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

CalcMojo's answer

Honest answer: if you only need a basic mortgage or BMI calculator and don't care about anything else, Calculator.net works fine. CalcMojo isn't trying to dethrone them.

Where CalcMojo wins:

  • You're in India. Calculator.net, Omni Calculator, and most US-focused sites don't have proper SIP, EMI, old vs new income tax, PPF, HRA, GST, or gratuity calculators. CalcMojo does, and they're built around how Indian salary, tax, and investments actually work.
  • You want to understand the result, not just see it. Every page explains the formula and walks through a worked example. Helpful for students, anyone planning their finances, or just curious people.
  • You're tired of popups and signup walls. No newsletter prompts. No "log in to save." Just the tool.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

CalcMojo's answer

Two main groups:

Indian professionals making financial decisions — picking between old and new tax regime, planning SIPs, calculating EMI on a home loan, figuring out HRA exemption, working out gratuity payouts. These tools are hard to find done correctly outside of India-focused sites, and they're carefully built here.

Anyone globally who needs a quick calculator with a real explanation. Students working through homework. Homeowners figuring out concrete or paint quantities. Developers needing a JSON formatter or regex tester. People comparing retirement scenarios. The shared need: get a number, understand how it was calculated, move on.

What's the story behind your product?

CalcMojo's answer

I kept hitting the same problem: I'd Google "[X] calculator," land on a site, get a number, and have no idea whether to trust it. Some sites are accurate but buried under ads. Others look clean but skip the formula entirely. And the Indian financial calculators were a particular gap — most US-focused sites don't have them at all.

So I built one site with 123 tools where the math is transparent, the India calculators work the way Indian filers actually need them to, and there's no signup wall in the way. CalcMojo went live in March 2026.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CalcMojo's answer

  • WordPress with the GeneratePress theme — lightweight, no page builder bloat
  • LiteSpeed web server + LiteSpeed Cache for performance
  • Vanilla JavaScript for the calculator logic in each tool — no React or framework overhead
  • Chart.js for visualizations (compound interest growth, investment projections)
  • Rank Math for SEO
  • WPCode for embed management

Each calculator's code is self-contained HTML/CSS/JS with no external dependencies beyond Chart.js where charts are needed. Loads fast on mobile, even on slow connections.
