Butterbase connects to Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP-compatible AI coding tool via Model Context Protocol. When you describe what you want to build, Butterbase provisions the entire backend automatically โ€” database tables, user authentication, file storage, edge functions, real-time subscriptions, and AI model access โ€” from the same prompt where you build your frontend.

No switching tabs. No reading documentation. No hiring a backend developer. Just describe your app and ship it.

The only limit should be your imagination. Not your backend.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Butterbase and Command-C.

What makes your product unique?

Butterbase's answer

Butterbase is the only backend platform with native MCP support. This means your AI coding tool โ€” Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or any MCP-compatible tool โ€” can provision your entire backend automatically from a natural language prompt. Database, authentication, storage, APIs, and real-time are set up as part of the same conversation where you describe your app. No other backend platform does this.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Butterbase's answer

Every other backend platform was built for developers who know SQL and are comfortable reading technical documentation. Butterbase was built for the opposite audience โ€” vibe coders and non-technical founders who build with AI tools and should not have to stop and learn backend development to ship a real product.

If you use Claude Code, Cursor, or Lovable to build your frontend, Butterbase is the backend that works the same way โ€” through conversation, not configuration.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Butterbase's answer

Non-technical founders, vibe coders, and working professionals who build apps with AI coding tools and want a backend that provisions itself automatically. People who have a clear product vision and the AI tools to build it, but should not need backend engineering knowledge to ship something real.

What's the story behind your product?

Butterbase's answer

Butterbase was built because the same pattern kept appearing โ€” builders were using AI tools to create polished frontends in hours, then spending days stuck on the backend. Setting up a database, configuring authentication, understanding APIs โ€” none of it should be the reason a good product never ships.

The rise of MCP made a different approach possible. Instead of asking builders to learn backend development, Butterbase connects directly to the AI tools they already use and handles the backend automatically. The name comes from the idea that the best infrastructure should be invisible โ€” smooth, simple, and always there when you need it.
