Built&Written is an end-to-end AI book editor designed for entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants who want to publish professional non-fiction books on Amazon KDP.

How it works

Paste your notes, rough drafts, or even just a book idea. The AI analyzes your content, builds a chapter structure, and generates full manuscript content โ€” all matching your writing voice through Voice DNA.

Voice DNA learns your tone, vocabulary, and sentence rhythm from writing samples you provide (emails, blog posts, social media). Every chapter sounds like you, not generic AI output.

Key features

  • Voice DNA โ€” AI matches your personal writing style
  • Chapter builder โ€” drag-and-drop structure with subchapters
  • Rich text editor โ€” edit 30,000โ€“80,000 word manuscripts
  • AI cover designer โ€” templates, AI art generation, built to KDP bleed/spine specs
  • KDP export โ€” print-ready PDF + EPUB in one click
  • Pre-publish checklist โ€” keywords, pricing, categories before upload

Who it's for

First-time authors who have expertise but no time for a 6-month writing process. Coaches turning frameworks into client-winning books. Consultants building authority through published content.

Pricing

Free version available (2 books). Paid plans from $15/mo with annual billing. 14-day money-back guarantee.

Devjour features and specs

  • Short and Memorable
Devjour is a concise, two-syllable domain name that is easy to remember and type, making it ideal for branding purposes.
  • Developer-Themed Branding
The 'Dev' prefix immediately signals a connection to software development, coding, or tech, making it highly relevant for developer tools, communities, or content platforms.
  • Creative Wordplay
The name cleverly blends 'Dev' (developer) with 'jour' (French for 'day'), suggesting concepts like 'developer of the day,' a daily dev journal, or a developer's journey, offering rich branding potential.
  • Unique and Distinctive
Devjour is not a common dictionary word, which means it stands out as a brand name and is less likely to be confused with existing well-known companies or products.
  • .com Availability Context
Being listed on DropCatch indicates the .com extension is or was available for acquisition, and .com remains the most trusted and recognized top-level domain for businesses and projects.

Possible disadvantages of Devjour

  • Pronunciation Ambiguity
Users may be unsure how to pronounce Devjour โ€” it could be read as 'dev-joor,' 'dev-jour,' or 'dev-jor,' which can lead to confusion in word-of-mouth marketing.
  • Spelling Uncertainty
People hearing the name may not know how to spell it correctly, potentially misspelling it as 'devjor,' 'devjeur,' or 'devjour,' which could result in lost traffic.
  • Niche Appeal
The 'Dev' prefix limits the domain's appeal primarily to the tech and software development sector, reducing its versatility for broader business applications.
  • Lack of Inherent SEO Value
Devjour is a made-up word with no existing search volume, meaning the brand would need to build recognition and SEO authority from scratch without the benefit of keyword-rich domain advantages.
  • Acquisition Cost Uncertainty
Being listed on a domain auction platform like DropCatch means the final price could escalate unpredictably through competitive bidding, potentially making it expensive relative to registering a fresh domain.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing BuiltWritten and Devjour.

What makes your product unique?

BuiltWritten's answer

Voice DNA โ€” the AI learns your personal writing style from samples you provide. Unlike generic AI writers, every chapter sounds like you. Plus it's the only tool that covers the entire pipeline from notes to KDP-ready export in one editor: writing, formatting, cover design, and export.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BuiltWritten's answer

Sudowrite and Squibler generate text but don't format for KDP or design covers. Atticus and Vellum handle formatting but have zero AI writing. With Built&Written you don't need to stitch five tools together โ€” one editor handles outline, AI co-writing, formatting, cover design, and PDF/EPUB export.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BuiltWritten's answer

Entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants who want to publish a non-fiction book to build authority and generate leads โ€” but don't have months to spend on the traditional writing and publishing process.

What's the story behind your product?

BuiltWritten's answer

We kept seeing the same pattern: entrepreneurs had the expertise for a great book but got stuck in the production pipeline โ€” bouncing between ChatGPT, Google Docs, Canva, and Kindle Create. Most quit before publishing. So we built one editor that handles everything from raw notes to a KDP-ready book.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BuiltWritten's answer

Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, PostgreSQL, and Vercel. The AI layer uses large language models for content generation and style matching.
