BuildBase is a multi-tenant SaaS backend delivered as a single npm install (@buildbase/sdk). It replaces the usual stitched stack of Clerk + Stripe + Supabase + Customer.io + a workflow engine with one SDK, one dashboard, and one bill.
19 integrated modules: Authentication, Stripe subscriptions and billing, usage-based metering with quotas and overages, workspaces and organizations, granular RBAC, visual workflow automation, email campaigns, push notifications, Slack notifications, feature flags, headless CMS, forms, webhooks, short links, analytics, collections, asset storage, user and audience management, and a credits system.
Authentication methods: Email/password, magic link, passkey (WebAuthn), Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, Microsoft, plus OAuth 2.0 authorization server support (BYO client credentials).
Deployment options: - Cloud: hosted by BuildBase, per-org isolated MongoDB - Self-Hosted: run three Docker images on your own infrastructure with your own MongoDB and Redis. Multi-arch

BuildBase.app's answer
Three things, in order of weight:
Usage-based billing is built-in, not bolted on. Meter any event server-side, client-side, or in batch. Set quotas per plan. Overages auto-bill to Stripe. Gate React UI with . Most auth+billing platforms (Kinde, Outseta, Clerk) stop at fixed subscriptions - if you build AI SaaS or anything metered, they force you to bolt on Lago or Orb. BuildBase ships it.
Zero platform fee, BYO Stripe. Your Stripe keys, your revenue. BuildBase takes 0% of GMV. For comparison: Kinde takes 0.5% on Scale, Outseta takes 1-2%, merchant-of-record platforms take 5%+. On $100k MRR that's the difference between $0 and $6k/mo in tax on your own revenue.
Real self-hosting. Not "source-available" and not "cloud only." Three Docker images on your own infrastructure with your own MongoDB and Redis. Multi-arch (amd64 + arm64). This is a genuine no-lock-in answer, not marketing.
Bonus: it's 19 modules in one npm install. One SDK, one dashboard, one bill.
BuildBase.app's answer
Depends on which competitor.
vs. Clerk + Stripe + Customer.io + Lago stack: You'd be running four services, four dashboards, four bills, and writing the glue code yourself. BuildBase is one install and one dashboard. Also cheaper at any scale that includes usage-metering.
vs. Kinde: Kinde is excellent auth + billing + feature flags. BuildBase adds visual workflow automation (62 triggers, competes with Customer.io), a full notification engine, headless CMS, multi-currency, and takes zero cut of your revenue vs. Kinde's 0.5% on Scale.
vs. Supabase / Firebase: Those are data platforms. You still need Clerk (or roll your own auth), Stripe integration, workflow engine, email campaigns. BuildBase ships those as first-class modules.
vs. SaaS boilerplates (ShipFast, Makerkit): Boilerplates are code you own and maintain forever. BuildBase is a managed SDK - features get upgraded without you touching billing code. And you can still self-host if you want the code-you-run feeling.
vs. Auth0: BuildBase is priced for founders and indie SaaS, not for enterprise procurement. If you need SAML SSO today, Auth0 wins. If you need auth + billing + workflows for a Series Seed AI SaaS, BuildBase wins.
Choose BuildBase if you're building usage-metered SaaS (especially AI SaaS) and want the whole backend as one npm install without giving up revenue.
BuildBase.app's answer
AI SaaS founders and indie SaaS builders shipping usage-metered products.
Specifically: - Founders building LLM wrappers, AI agents, content generators, or any product where "credits", "runs", "generations", or per-event billing is the pricing model - Serial indie hackers tired of rebuilding auth + billing + workspaces + email for every product - Small dev teams (1 to 10) at seed to Series A stage who need production-grade infrastructure without hiring a platform team - Agencies building white-label SaaS for clients on metered pricing
Not a fit for: enterprise buyers who require SAML SSO and SOC 2 today, or teams whose primary need is data + realtime (Supabase serves that better).
BuildBase.app's answer
Two brothers building SaaS products got tired of stitching the same backend together every time.
Every new product meant wiring Clerk for auth, Stripe for billing, Customer.io for lifecycle emails, Lago or a hand-rolled meter for usage-based pricing, a workflow engine for onboarding, an email campaign tool, and a notification system. Every stack cost $500+/mo, five dashboards, and weeks of glue code that had nothing to do with the actual product.
So they built the shared backend they wished existed and used it to launch five of their own SaaS products: PlugNode (visual AI workflow builder), AgentCenter (mission control for AI agents), Imejis (image generation API), RemoteWait (virtual queue for salons and clinics), and LinkTracer (creator analytics).
BuildBase is that shared backend, now available as one npm install. The five dogfood products still run on it in production - which means every feature has been battle-tested against real paying customers before it ships to yours.
Built by Jagodana LLC. The engineering-heavy brother owns the SDK, server, and infrastructure. The GTM-heavy brother owns product, content, and customer development. No VC funding. Bootstrap-friendly pricing on purpose.

BuildBase is in the early customer stage. Rather than list logos we don't have, here's the real proof: we run five of our own live SaaS products on BuildBase in production.
Each one uses a different part of the platform. PlugNode stress-tests usage-based billing and multi-currency. AgentCenter runs on the subscription tier system. RemoteWait uses the notification engine for real-time customer alerts. If a feature is in BuildBase, one of these five is running it in production against real paying users.
We're onboarding our first external paying customers now. If you'd like to be one, we're offering founding-customer pricing: cal.com/dharmendra-jagodana-8c8oye/buildbase-app-onboarding-and-support
