Scrapio is a developer-first web scraping and data extraction API. A general-purpose /fetch endpoint handles JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, and session management, returning markdown, HTML, screenshots, or LLM-extracted structured JSON. Beyond generic fetching, Scrapio provides 15 dedicated typed endpoints: e-commerce (Amazon, Walmart, Target), travel (Booking.com, Agoda, Airbnb), search & social (Google, Bing, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok), apps (Apple App Store), and AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity โ€” for tracking brand mentions in AI-generated answers). Also includes native Monitors for scheduled change detection with webhook notifications. Pricing is credit-based and documented per API surface; the Free plan includes 1,000 credits/month with no credit card required.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing BrowserStack and Scrapio.dev.

What makes your product unique?

Scrapio.dev's answer:

The combination of two things competitors don't pair together: dedicated, typed endpoints for 15 real sites (not just generic fetch/crawl) and tracking for whether a brand gets mentioned in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity answers, the latter being a capability none of the established scraping APIs (Firecrawl, ScrapingBee, ScraperAPI, Bright Data, Apify) currently offer. On top of that, pricing is fully published per API surface with no hidden multipliers, and Monitors ship as a first-class scheduled feature rather than something you build yourself.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Scrapio.dev's answer:

It depends what they're optimizing for: cheaper entry cost and predictable billing than Bright Data (Starter is $29/mo vs. Bright Data's $499/mo jump from the free tier); markdown/structured JSON output built for LLM pipelines instead of raw HTML like ScraperAPI; flat, published credit costs instead of ScrapingBee's stacking multipliers; and broader dedicated-site coverage plus AI-visibility tracking that Firecrawl doesn't have. In short: teams who want AI-agent-ready output, transparent pricing, and don't want to run their own scheduling/monitoring infrastructure.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Scrapio.dev's answer:

Developers building AI agents, automation workflows, or data pipelines who need structured web data without maintaining scraper infrastructure, plus, increasingly, marketing/SEO teams doing AI-visibility (GEO) tracking now that ChatGPT/Gemini/Perplexity monitoring is a distinct template category. Skews toward small-to-mid teams and solo developers based on the pricing tiers (Free/Starter entry points, no enterprise-only gate).

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Scrapio.dev's answer:

TypeScript, Python and Golang.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Scrapio.dev's answer:

Scrapio is early-stage and doesn't have named enterprise customers to showcase yet. The teams using it today are primarily solo developers and small engineering teams building AI agents, automation workflows, and data pipelines.

What's the story behind your product?

Scrapio.dev's answer:

I kept hitting the same wall on every project that needed web data: start with a generic scraper, watch it break the moment a site added JavaScript rendering or bot detection, then end up hand-rolling a parser, a proxy rotation layer, and a scheduler, for every single site, every single time. Amazon, Booking.com, YouTube: same problem, different HTML shape, same wasted week. Scrapio started as the tool I wanted to already exist: one API that handles the JS rendering and proxy layer generically, plus dedicated typed endpoints for the specific sites that come up again and again, so the parsing work gets done once instead of every time someone needs it. The AI-visibility tracking (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) came later, once it became clear that "is my brand even mentioned" was turning into the same kind of recurring, nobody-has-a-clean-way-to-check-this problem, just for AI answers instead of web pages.
