Tesbo is an open source, AI-powered test management platform that reads your requirements, documentation, existing test cases, and defect history before generating a single test case so every output is grounded in what your product actually does, not a generic prompt.

Why Tesbo

Generic AI tools know nothing about your product. Tesbo's Context Engine indexes six sources from your project and drafts cases that cite every source they came from — the requirement it covers, the doc that set the rule, and the defect that made it worth testing. Engineers approve, edit, or reject every draft. Nothing enters the repository unreviewed.

Key Features

Knowledge Base + RAG — Versioned product docs, vector-indexed and retrieved precisely when the engine drafts a case.

Requirement Import — Pull stories and acceptance criteria from Jira or Linear. Context arrives with the ticket, no copy-pasting needed.

Test Case Repository — Nested suites with priorities and rich steps. Existing cases teach the engine your depth, phrasing, and standards.

Bug & Defect Tracking — Log bugs from failed runs, linked to the case and requirement that caught them.

Human Review Queue — Every AI-generated case waits for a deliberate human decision before entering the repository.

Requirements Traceability — The matrix fills itself because cases are generated from requirements. No manual links needed.

Runs, Plans & Reports — Pass rates, flaky-test detection, risk hotspots, and a coverage view that maps requirements to runs.

MCP Server — Connect Claude, Cursor, or any AI agent to inherit your full project context.

Audit Logs — Every action by agent or human, logged in full and tamper-evident.

Deployment

Self-host with one Docker command under the Apache 2.0 license no per-seat fees, no lock-in, your data never leaves your infrastructure. Cloud hosting also available with a free tier, no credit card required.

Tesbo features and specs

  • Knowledge Base + RAG
Store all your product docs in a structured, versioned knowledge base. Every file is vector-indexed using RAG, so when the engine drafts a test case, it pulls the exact section that applies — not a keyword match, but the right context, retrieved precisely.
  • Requirement Import
Connect Tesbo to Jira or Linear and your requirements flow in automatically stories, acceptance criteria, and all. No copy-pasting, no reformatting. The moment a ticket lands in Tesbo, the engine can write against it. What your team wrote once becomes test coverage without typing it twice.
  • Test Case Repository
Organize test cases in nested suites with priorities, rich steps, and custom fields. The engine reads every case your team has approved and learns your standards — depth, phrasing, priority. New cases don't just cover requirements; they match the bar your team has already set.
  • Bug & Defect Tracking
Log bugs directly from failed runs, linked to the case and requirement it covers. Over time, defect history tells the engine which areas break most and what a good catch looks like so tests are written where they matter most, not just where they're easiest.
  • Human Review Queue
Every AI-generated case lands in a review queue before it touches the repository. Approve, edit, or reject one decision per case. Approvals raise the bar. Edits become conventions. Rejections teach the engine your limits. Nothing gets in without a deliberate human call.
  • Requirements Traceability
Because Tesbo generates cases from requirements, the traceability link is never a field someone remembered to fill it's how the case was made. The matrix populates as cases are generated and updates as runs complete. When a stakeholder asks what's covered, the answer is already there.
  • Test Runs
Create a run, assign cases, and execute each tracks its own status: Passed, Failed, Blocked, Skipped, or Pending. The live progress bar and pass rate update in real time. When done, share via link or export as CSV. Every run is a timestamped, versioned record tied to its environment.
  • Test Plans
Group your runs under a plan and see the full picture in one view. Smoke, Functional, Regression each plan tracks its own pass rate, version, and run history. The overall pass rate rolls up automatically, so you always know where your release stands.
  • Reports
One screen shows your full project pass rate, open bugs, coverage, and total runs at the top. Drill into the Execution Report by run, or follow Traceability from requirement to case to bug. AI Insights surface risks, flaky tests, and gaps. Export as CSV or Excel.
  • Tesbo MCP Server
Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible agent to Tesbo and it inherits your full project context requirements, docs, cases, defect history in one integration. The same human-approval rules apply regardless of which tool triggered the draft.
  • Audit Logs
Every decision in Tesbo who approved a case, which agent drafted it, what context it came from, when it was edited and by whom is logged in full. When a compliance auditor asks why a case exists, you don't search chat history. You click once and the record is there.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing browserling and Tesbo.

What makes your product unique?

Tesbo's answer:

Most AI tools generate test cases from a blank prompt. They have never seen your product, your requirements, or your defect history. Tesbo's Context Engine reads six sources from your project before drafting a single case: requirements, existing test cases, product documentation, business rules, historical defects, and accumulated QA knowledge. Every generated case cites the source it came from, and nothing enters the repository without human sign-off. The longer your team uses it, the better it gets. Every approval, edit, and rejection feeds back into the index.

What's the story behind your product?

Tesbo's answer:

Tesbo was built by QAble, a quality engineering company based in Ahmedabad, India. The team spent years helping software companies manage testing and kept running into the same problem. QA engineers were spending most of their time writing and maintaining test cases instead of designing meaningful coverage. When AI tools arrived, teams tried ChatGPT and got generic output that ignored their product context entirely. Tesbo was built to solve exactly that: an AI that reads your project first, drafts cases grounded in your actual requirements, and keeps humans in control of every decision.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Tesbo's answer:

TestRail, Zephyr, and Qase are storage tools. They hold test cases but don't help you write them. Generic AI tools write cases that could belong to any product. Tesbo is the only test management platform where the AI has actually read your project before it writes. It connects requirement import, a versioned knowledge base, defect history, and a human review queue into one continuous loop. It is also fully open source under Apache 2.0. Self-host it on your own infrastructure with no per-seat fees and no lock-in.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Tesbo's answer:

QA engineers and QA managers at software and SaaS companies. Specifically, teams already using Jira or Linear for requirements who are frustrated with manually writing test cases, maintaining traceability spreadsheets, and getting generic output from ChatGPT. Tesbo fits teams of any size, from early-stage startups running a small QA function to mid-market engineering teams with large, established test suites.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Tesbo's answer:

Tesbo is built on PostgreSQL as the primary database, with a vector index for RAG-based document retrieval. It is self-hostable via Docker Compose and open source under the Apache 2.0 license, available on GitHub at github.com/QAbleHQ/Tesbo-Test-Manager. The MCP Server integration allows any MCP-compatible AI agent including Claude and Cursor to connect to the platform directly.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Tesbo's answer:

Tesbo is currently in early adoption across software and SaaS teams who have migrated from TestRail, Zephyr, and spreadsheet-based workflows. Specific customer names will be listed here as they are approved for public reference.
