Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Browser Use and ToolTrace.

What makes your product unique?

ToolTrace's answer:

ToolTrace combines multiple web intelligence capabilities under one API key and one credit pool. Most competitors offer just scraping or just SEO tools. ToolTrace covers scraping, content extraction, metadata, links, schema markup, SEO audits, sitemaps, and tech stack detection in a single platform. It's also built specifically for AI agent workflows with native integrations for LangChain, LlamaIndex, and MCP.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ToolTrace's answer:

Three reasons: breadth, simplicity, and price. You get a full suite of web intelligence APIs without juggling multiple providers and billing systems. The unified credit pool means you pay once and use any endpoint. Founding member pricing starts at $9.50/month for Pro. And every API has a matching free tool on the site so you can test before writing any code.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ToolTrace's answer:

Developers and small teams building AI agents, RAG pipelines, research tools, and web automation. Also SEO professionals who need programmatic access to on-page diagnostics, schema validation, and tech stack data at scale.

What's the story behind your product?

ToolTrace's answer:

I was building AI agents that needed reliable web data and got frustrated maintaining scrapers that broke every time a site updated its layout. I built an API to solve my own problem, then realized the same infrastructure could power SEO audits, metadata extraction, link analysis, and tech stack detection. ToolTrace grew from one endpoint into a full platform.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ToolTrace's answer:

Python 3.12, FastAPI, Playwright (headless Chromium for browser rendering), Redis, SQLite, and Astro for the website. Runs on a VPS behind Cloudflare.

  • You've Never Seen 90% of the Internet. Neither Has Google.
Browser agents like Browser Use and OpenAI Operator are where things start to change. These are AI systems that actually navigate pages โ€” clicking, typing, scrolling, filling forms, handling pop-ups. They can reach content that requires interaction. The limitation I've found is orchestration: when you need to run the same task across dozens or hundreds of sites in parallel, managing that yourself becomes its own... - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
  • WebMCP Explained: The New Standard That Turns Websites Into APIs for AI Agents
This is where tools like TinyFish, Browser Use, and Browserbase become more relevant, not less. The real value of a web agent platform in a WebMCP world is being able to do both: call structured tools where they exist, and navigate the messy human-designed web everywhere else. The transition will take years. Someone has to bridge it. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
  • Web Scraping Is Dead. Web Agents Just Replaced It.
Browser Use is open source and flexible. You can choose your own LLM, and their cloud offering means you're not tying up your own machine. I was impressed by how well the AI reasoned about page layouts. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
  • The 8 Best Platforms To Build Voice AI Agents
Personal assistant: Like Gemini Live, you can create a voice system to help you understand your surroundings and what youโ€™re looking at. • Build Your First Open Source AI Agent
At the core of the AI agent is the integration of the open-source Python library from Browser Use. This library empowers the agent to perform a variety of tasks by simulating browser actions. Whether itโ€™s navigating to a restaurantโ€™s website to book a table or accessing the CRM to track customer engagements, Browser Use provides the necessary tools for the agent to interact with web resources effectively. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
