Everything runs through one engine:

Bewary is a direct-to-consumer product, so there is no logo wall to show here, and inventing one would be its own small scam.

The customers are individuals: the person who just got a text claiming to be from their bank, someone running a website legit check before typing in card details, someone who added an ageing parent to the Family tab. Both ways to buy are self-serve:

Bewary is built around the moment of doubt, wherever it happens:

• Point the camera at a real situation. A street con, a clipboard fundraiser, a payment QR code taped over the real one. You get a verdict on the scene, not just on text you can copy.
• One plain reason, every time. Ordinary words, so you know why.
• A plan for after. Already paid? You get a step-by-step recovery plan: who to call, what to change, how to report it.
• Family and leaks. Add the people you look out for, and watch email and phone numbers for known breaches.

Bewary is made by Reply200 Inc. It came out of a gap in the help people actually get. Ask "is this a scam" and the answers on offer are mostly written for people who already understand phishing, and they tend to arrive after the reply has been sent.

So the app was built around three moments instead:

• Before. One question, any input, a verdict in seconds with one plain reason.
• In the room. Scams are not only text on a screen, so you can photograph what is in front of you and get a verdict on that.
• After. If you already clicked, called, or paid, you get a step-by-step recovery plan rather than sympathy.

Andrey Khayrullaev founded it and stays accountable for the scam library's accuracy and corrections.

• iPhone app: native SwiftUI, plus three system extensions. A Message Filter sends scam texts from unknown senders to junk, a Call Directory labels known scam numbers, and a Share extension checks anything from another app.
• On device: screenshot text recognition and QR or barcode decoding run on the phone before a check is sent.
• Web: bewary.app is a static Astro build, with Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection. The browser check calls the same engine as the app.
• Backend: Python and FastAPI in Docker, with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Detection: a multi-stage pipeline on Google Gemini that reads the input, categorises it, weighs live threat feeds and public sources, then verifies before raising a verdict.
• Payments: StoreKit 2 on iOS, Stripe on the web.

Clients hold no vendor keys. Every model call and lookup runs server side.
