Uptime monitoring built for small businesses, freelancers, and agencies who need reliable alerts without enterprise complexity.

The Problem

Most monitoring tools check from a single location. If that location has a network issue, you get a false alert. FlareWarden checks from 18 regions across 6 continents and cross-validates before sending any notification. If regions disagree, no alert fires. Only confirmed outages reach you.

Key Features

Cross-Region Verification โ€” A failure in one region triggers verification from others. No more 3am false alarms from regional network blips.

Smart Setup โ€” Paste a URL and FlareWarden auto-detects SSL certificates, third-party dependencies (700+ services including Stripe, Shopify, Cloudflare, AWS), and critical page content. Fully monitored in ~2 minutes.

Parent/Child Monitors โ€” Dependencies like payment providers are linked as child monitors. When one fails, the parent shows "degraded" rather than "down" โ€” so you know what broke, not just that something did.

Branded Status Pages โ€” Included on every plan. API-compatible with Atlassian StatusPage v2 for easy migration. Subscribers get notified automatically.

Additional โ€” SSL expiry alerts (30/14/7 days), content verification, webhooks for Slack/Discord/Teams/PagerDuty, role-based permissions, data exports.

Pricing

  • Free Forever โ€” 15 monitors, 5-min checks, no credit card
  • Starter โ€” $6/mo (normally $10) โ€” 1-min checks, 2 status pages
  • Business โ€” $17/mo (normally $29) โ€” 100 monitors, 30-sec checks
  • Growth โ€” $47/mo (normally $79) โ€” 300 monitors, 15 status pages
  • Agency โ€” $137/mo (normally $229) โ€” 1,000 monitors, unlimited

Founding member pricing (40% off forever) available through June 2026.

256-bit SSL encryption. GDPR ready with regional data storage (US and EU).

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Better Stack and FlareWarden.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Better Stack's answer

Engineering teams of all sizes โ€“ from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

FlareWarden's answer:

Small businesses, freelancers, and agencies who run websites but don't have a dedicated DevOps team. People who need monitoring that works out of the box without spending half a day configuring it, and who don't want to pay enterprise prices just to get reliable alerting.

What makes your product unique?

Better Stack's answer

Better Stack is a modern observability tool that leverages eBPF and OpenTelemetry to make tracing work for you.

FlareWarden's answer:

Most uptime monitors check from a single location and immediately alert when something looks wrong. FlareWarden checks from 18 regions across 6 continents and cross-validates before sending any notification. If one region reports a failure but others say everything's fine, no alert fires โ€” you only hear about confirmed outages. On top of that, Smart Setup lets you paste a URL and have your SSL, third-party dependencies, and critical page content auto-detected and monitored in about two minutes, instead of manually configuring everything.

What's the story behind your product?

Better Stack's answer

We are software builders at Better Stack.

CEO is a software engineer, COO is a software engineer and you guessed it; CTO is an engineer, too.

Weโ€™re helping developers ship higher quality software faster.

FlareWarden's answer:

Uptime monitoring was always a space I wanted to build in. The tools at the lower end of the market felt like they hadn't evolved much โ€” single-location checks, noisy alerts, manual setup for every site. The enterprise tools solved those problems but at a price point and complexity level that doesn't make sense for a small business or solo operator. I wanted to bring features like multi-region verification and auto-discovery to a product that a non-technical person could set up in a few minutes.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Better Stack's answer

You get an unrivaled price-to-performance ratio. Forget sampling and ingest all your data, or decrease your costs by 30x.

FlareWarden's answer:

Three reasons. First, cross-region verification is built into every plan including free โ€” most competitors either don't offer it or lock it behind expensive tiers. Second, the parent/child monitor architecture shows you what broke, not just that something did. If your payment provider goes down, your status page says "payment processing degraded" instead of just "site down." Third, setup takes minutes instead of hours. Most tools require you to manually add monitors for each service, certificate, and dependency. FlareWarden scans your site and handles that automatically.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Better Stack's answer

The primary technologies used to build Better Stack are eBPF for low-level, high-performance instrumentation and ClickHouse for storing and querying large volumes of observability data efficiently.

FlareWarden's answer:

FlareWarden is built with Go and deployed on Fly.io using an active-active multi-region architecture. The monitoring infrastructure runs across multiple regions simultaneously rather than routing from a single origin โ€” which is what makes the cross-region verification fast and reliable.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

FlareWarden's answer:

We're early stage and just launched, so no big names to drop yet. Right now the focus is on onboarding small businesses and agencies and making sure the product is solid before scaling up.
