Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing BeLora Connect and Hypervector.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

BeLora Connect's answer

  • Salesforce
  • Mercury
  • Upwork
  • ...

What makes your product unique?

BeLora Connect's answer

Connect is the only voice interpreter that translates your actual voice โ€” not a robotic AI voice, not subtitles, not text.

  • Preserves your tone, rhythm, and emotion across 40+ languages
  • Sub-500ms latency, so conversations flow naturally with no awkward pauses
  • Works as a virtual microphone layer on any app that uses audio โ€” Zoom, Meet, Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, softphones โ€” with zero install on the other person's end
  • Emotion Transfer (50+ emotions) carries your actual feeling into the translation, not a flattened AI tone
  • Privacy by design: audio is never stored, transcripts stay local and end-to-end encrypted

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BeLora Connect's answer

Most alternatives force a trade-off. Krisp focuses on noise suppression, not translation. Wordly is built for captions and transcripts, not live spoken voice. Interprefy and KUDO are powerful but built for large managed events โ€” with enterprise pricing and setup that's overkill for everyday calls.

Connect is different: it's a self-serve desktop app (Free, $14.99, or $29.99/mo) that plugs directly into the calls you're already taking โ€” no demo, no procurement cycle, no event setup. If you just need to understand and be understood on a sales call, a support ticket, or an interview, Connect gives you that live translated voice in your own tone, starting today.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BeLora Connect's answer

Anyone whose work or life gets stopped by a language barrier on a live call:

  • Sales & Business Development teams closing deals with international clients
  • Customer Support teams handling tickets across languages without a multilingual staff
  • HR & Recruiting teams interviewing talent globally
  • Freelancers & remote workers taking client calls in any language
  • Individuals โ€” travelers, expats, and anyone on a personal call who needs to speak and be understood without an interpreter

What's the story behind your product?

BeLora Connect's answer

Connect started as a fix for one specific problem: a video call that felt impossible because of a language barrier. Its founder, Caleb Laurent, realized that problem wasn't rare โ€” it shows up constantly for freelancers, remote teams, healthcare staff, and anyone navigating the world in a second language.

The idea: you shouldn't have to learn a new language for every person you need to talk to โ€” you should just be able to speak. Connect was built as an AI voice interpreter that disappears into the call, translating live in 40+ languages while keeping your own voice, tone, and rhythm intact.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BeLora Connect's answer

Connect is built on a real-time speech pipeline combining several AI components:

  • Speech-to-Text (STT) โ€” transcribes spoken audio in real time as the foundation for translation
  • Small Language Model (SLM) โ€” handles fast, low-latency translation and context understanding, optimized for sub-second response rather than raw model size
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS) โ€” voice cloning/synthesis (powered in part by Cartesia) to regenerate the translated text in the speaker's own voice, tone, and emotion
  • Audio routing layer โ€” a virtual microphone/speaker system (Virtual Audio Cable on Windows) that plugs Connect's output directly into any app using the system's audio, with no plugin needed on the other side

Together, this pipeline is what keeps the whole loop โ€” capture, transcribe, translate, resynthesize, route โ€” under 500ms.
