Bayaan is a governed enterprise AI workspace, and it does two things most tools keep separate: it answers plain-language questions over a company's own live business data, and it turns those answers into finished deliverables (decks, spreadsheets, docs) built to match the company's brand and templates. Every data answer comes with a source citation. The platform also runs inside the customer's own Microsoft Azure environment rather than as a shared public tool, so role-based access, project-level permissions, and full audit logs are there from day one. It's rolled out vertical by vertical, starting with commercial real estate and moving next to legal and finance, so it speaks each industry's language instead of acting like a generic chatbot.

Generic AI chatbots don't know a company's proprietary data and can't be governed the way enterprises need. Traditional BI stacks know the data but move slowly, since every question has to go through a specialist. Bayaan sits between those two: business teams ask plain-language questions of their live data, get cited answers without SQL or waiting on analysts, and turn those answers straight into finished, on-brand documents. It also runs natively inside the customer's own Azure environment with RBAC, project-level access, and full audit trails, and it never trains on customer data, so security and compliance teams can actually check it instead of just trusting it.

Bayaan is built for non-technical business teams at mid-size to large enterprises, the people who need answers from company data (finance, operations, portfolio or asset management, leadership) but aren't analysts or SQL users themselves. It's also aimed at the people who have to sign off on governance: IT, security, and compliance staff who need role-based access and audit trails, alongside the end users asking questions and generating documents. Right now that audience is mostly in commercial real estate (leases, occupancy, EBITDA, CapEx), with legal and finance teams next in line.

Bayaan was built by Al Rafay Consulting (ARC), a software engineering firm and Microsoft Solutions Partner with years of enterprise delivery on Azure and SharePoint. The idea behind it: enterprise teams were stuck choosing between two bad options, generic AI chatbots that don't know their data and can't be governed, or traditional BI stacks that know the data but are slow because every question waits on a specialist. ARC built Bayaan to sit between those two: one governed workspace, deployed in the customer's own environment, under the customer's own rules. The name is Arabic for "a clear statement," which fits what the product is trying to do: turn business data into clear, cited answers, then turn those answers into finished deliverables. It launched first for commercial real estate, where ARC's client relationships run deepest, and it's now in pilot with a life-sciences real estate firm, with legal and finance planned next.

It's built on Microsoft Azure, using Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry, and it deploys directly into each customer's own Azure subscription rather than running as third-party shared SaaS. It routes across multiple models, so different tasks can be balanced for speed, cost, or reasoning depth depending on what's needed. Generated output plugs into Microsoft's document formats (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), matched to the customer's own templates and branding.
