  • Developer-Friendly Hosting
Opalstack is designed with developers in mind, offering SSH access, Git integration, and support for multiple programming languages and frameworks including Python, Node.js, Ruby, and PHP, giving developers granular control over their hosting environment.
  • Affordable Pricing
Opalstack offers competitive pricing for shared and managed hosting plans, making it an accessible option for small businesses, freelancers, and individual developers who need robust features without enterprise-level costs.
  • Modern Control Panel
Opalstack provides a clean, modern, and intuitive web-based dashboard for managing sites, applications, databases, and email accounts, which is a significant improvement over older-style hosting control panels like cPanel.
  • Strong Support for Multiple Applications

  • Reliable Infrastructure and Support
Opalstack is built by former WebFaction team members, bringing experienced hosting expertise. They offer responsive customer support and a reputation for stable, well-managed server infrastructure with good uptime.

Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ATS First and Opalstack.

What makes your product unique?

ATS First's answer

Most resume tools score a resume in isolation and hand you a number. ATS First scores it against a specific job description and then shows the exact keywords the ATS is looking for and your resume is missing — so the fix is a concrete edit, not a vague grade.

It's also the whole loop in one place: check the resume, rebuild it in an ATS-safe template, write the matching cover letter, then run a voice mock interview for that same role and get scored feedback on your answers. Most competitors do one of those four.

And it isn't a subscription. Pro is a one-time, time-limited pass (7-day, 1-month, 3-month) with no auto-renewal — you buy it for the job search, it ends by itself.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ATS First's answer

  • Scoring is job-description-specific, with a missing-keyword gap report, not a generic resume grade.
  • No subscription and no auto-renewal. A 7-day pass is $5 and simply expires — you're never billed again by surprise.
  • The free tier is real, not a paywalled preview: 3 analyses a month, a saved resume, a cover letter, and PDF export without a card.
  • One product covers resume check, resume builder, cover letters and AI voice mock interviews, so you aren't paying three vendors.
  • Exports are genuinely ATS-safe (PDF and DOCX), not design-heavy templates that parse badly.
  • India-first pricing in INR alongside USD, plus content built for the Indian market (biodata formats, fresher resume formats, notice-period and CTC calculators) that global tools ignore.
  • Dozens of free tools and guides with no signup — JD keyword extractor, STAR answer builder, interview question banks by role and by company.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ATS First's answer

Job seekers applying online who get filtered out before a human sees the resume — mid-career professionals switching roles, freshers and recent graduates writing a first resume, and career changers who need to re-target their experience for a new function. Strongest in India, where the free Word formats, biodata and CTC/notice-period tools are built for local hiring norms, with a growing global user base paying in USD.

A second, smaller audience is recruiters and small hiring teams using the bulk resume screening, boolean search builder, JD generator and interview scorecard tools.

What's the story behind your product?

ATS First's answer

ATS First started from a simple, common frustration: qualified people sending out dozens of applications and hearing nothing, because an Applicant Tracking System filtered the resume out before any human read it. The advice online was generic — "use keywords" — with no way to know which keywords, for which job.

So the first thing built was the piece that was missing: score a resume against one specific job description and name the exact terms it's missing. Everything since has followed the same rule — every feature has to change what the user does next, not just report a number. That's how the ATS-safe builder, the cover letter tools and the AI interview coach were added.

The pricing follows from the same idea. A job search is a season, not a forever subscription, so Pro is sold as a one-time pass that expires on its own.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ATS First's answer

  • Next.js 15 (App Router) with React 19 and TypeScript, deployed on Vercel
  • Tailwind CSS 4
  • Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check
  • Google Gemini on Vertex AI for resume analysis, generation and interview scoring
  • Google Cloud Text-to-Speech for the voice interview coach
  • Razorpay (INR) and Dodo Payments (USD) for checkout
