While the interface is user-friendly, new users might face a learning curve in mastering the full capabilities of all the plugins.
  • Dependency on Adobe Illustrator
These plugins are specifically designed for Adobe Illustrator, limiting their functionality to this platform and excluding users of other graphic design software.
  • Installation Complexity
Some users report issues with installation and setup, which can be time-consuming and may require specific technical assistance.

  • Small Community
The platform has a smaller user base compared to major developer communities, which means fewer contributions, slower updates, and potentially less peer review of content accuracy.
  • Limited Advanced Topics
The platform may focus more on basic definitions and terminology, potentially lacking in-depth coverage of advanced programming concepts, design patterns, or complex technical topics.
  • Potential for Outdated Information
With a smaller community maintaining content, some entries may become outdated as programming languages and technologies evolve, without timely updates to reflect current best practices.
  • Less Recognized Platform
Being a lesser-known tool in the developer ecosystem, Codictionary may not be widely recognized or trusted as an authoritative source compared to well-established documentation and reference sites.

AstuteGraphics mentions (4)

  • What do you hate about Adobe Illustrator?
I wouldn't say "hate", but Astute Graphics has made several plugins for 20+ years (if we count their lives before AG) that provide significant functionality that Illustrator lacks, and should have been created in Illustrator itself long ago. That's really my biggest gripe with Illustrator. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Snap angled shapes?
If you regularly use Illustrator for more precise design work, I HIGHLY recommend the Astute Graphics plug-ins. Collider Scribe in particular will help you snap things together far better than default Illustrator. I can't imagine working without the "rotate at collision" and "rotate to collision" tools any more. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Is there is any tool in Adobe Illustrator which Auto Trace the vector?
I have found the plugin for this problem astute graphics plugin. But the thing is it is not the free and I am looking for the built-in tool. Source: about 4 years ago
  • What is a little known designer resource that you believe every artist should know about?
Definitely check out https://astutegraphics.com/ if you use illustrator a lot. There's a lot of really great time saving tools packaged into one plugin. Source: over 4 years ago
