VoxGuard is an Android call-screening app that protects you from spam calls, robocalls, and unwanted unknown numbers by screening every unknown caller before your phone rings. Instead of relying on spam databases that are always out of date, VoxGuard handles every unknown caller the same way: it intercepts the call, asks the caller to prove they're human, records why they're calling, and lets you decide whether to connect. Your saved contacts always ring through normally, so there are no delays for people you know.

Here's how it works. When an unknown number calls, VoxGuard answers first and asks the caller to repeat a short key phrase of your choice. Robocallers and automated systems can't respond correctly, so they get hung up on automatically after three failed attempts. Real human callers then record a brief reason for their call, which VoxGuard transcribes to text. You receive a push notification with both the audio recording and the written transcript, and you have two minutes to approve the call and have your phone ring, or decline it. Any missed or declined calls go to a smart voicemail with separate greetings for known and unknown callers, and every voicemail is transcribed for you.

VoxGuard works on any carrier and screens every unknown caller, not just numbers on a blocklist. You can customize your key phrase, record your own greetings or use text-to-speech, set the caller's recorded message as your ringtone so you hear who's calling before answering, and toggle screening on or off anytime.

VoxGuard puts you back in control of your phone by making sure only real people, with a real reason to call, ever get through.

assertpy features and specs

  • Fluent API
Assertpy offers a fluent API that makes assertions more readable and expressive, enabling developers to write assertions in a natural language style that is easy to understand.
  • Chainable Assertions
It allows for chainable assertions, enabling multiple checks to be performed in a single line of code, thereby reducing verbosity and enhancing clarity.
  • Comprehensive Assertion Methods
The library provides a wide range of built-in assertion methods, catering to various types of data validations, such as checking for size, type, value, and more.
  • Extensibility
Assertpy supports extending its functionality by defining custom assertions, allowing developers to tailor it to their specific needs.
  • Pythonic
Designed with Pythonic principles in mind, Assertpy fits seamlessly into Python projects, enabling idiomatic and consistent code style.

Possible disadvantages of assertpy

  • Learning Curve
Developers new to the library may encounter a learning curve due to the distinct approach of using fluent and chainable assertions as opposed to traditional methods.
  • Limited by Python Version
The library may have limitations in terms of compatibility with older versions of Python, requiring users to ensure their environment is up-to-date.
  • Performance Overhead
The additional abstraction layer introduced by a fluent interface might introduce some performance overhead, especially in performance-critical or resource-constrained environments.
  • Less Community Support
Compared to more established testing libraries, Assertpy might have less community support and fewer resources available for resolving issues or getting help.
  • Dependency Management
Using a third-party library introduces additional dependencies to manage, which could complicate project maintenance and compatibility.

What makes your product unique?

VoxGuard's answer:

VoxGuard has a unique 2-phase screening approach. The first is a custom key phrase defined by the user that the caller has to repeat, removing 100% of robocallers. The next is asking for the caller's name and reason for the call, which allows the user to listen or see a transcription of the call. Contacts come through as normal. VoxGuard also offers a custom voicemail seporator for unknown callers vs. contacts, with either voice recording or Text-to-Speech for better anonymity.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

VoxGuard's answer:

Most services on the market just block calls labeled as spam, with genuine callers being blocked. Others let every call ring through asking for a call reason interrupting your day. With VoxGuard's unique 2-phase screening approach, only verified, real humans ring through.
