Linux on apple silicon is a thing though: https://asahilinux.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago
Is it feasible to run Linux on the Apple hardware? Seems like that could meet your requirements, except possibly "align with my values." I saw https://asahilinux.org/ but don't know how usable it is, or whether the long battery life and hardware support is preserved. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
Have you heard the good gospel of Asahi? https://asahilinux.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

I would also be interested in any resources which helped you out in the way. I would love something like this but for Linux,... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
I wonder if it is possible to install a standard Linux distro on LG TVs. There is KDE Plasma Bigscreen for a TV-like experience on such distros. https://plasma-bigscreen.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
I think Plasma Bigscreen is trying to do so: https://plasma-bigscreen.org/ Haven't heard any news about it for a while, but it looks a bit like "Android TV except not Android". - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
You could get a SFF PC like the other reply mentioned, and install something like Plasma Bigscreen[1] on it. [1](https://plasma-bigscreen.org/). - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
