Apache Karaf with OSGi works pretty nice using annotation based dependency injection with the declarative services, removing the need to mess with those hopefully archaic XML blueprints. Too bad it's not as trendy as spring and the developers so many of the tutorials can be a bit dated and hard to find. We tried lots of different tools (Podium, Birdeye and bunch of others). They are all the same "Can you write us a review?" tools. The one we've had the most success with is Starloop.com with the tree planting per review. We tried all kind of solutions to get reviews from DIY in-house stuff to BirdEye.com and Podium and finally settled on starloop.com.
