Anything below LXqt is going to suck really bad. I'd throw a minimal installation of some snapless Ubuntu or Debian based distro if I really wanted to use it for anything. MX Linux is a great option for something reliable, stable and lightweight. If you just wanna meme or experiment, go with arch using anarchy installer. Source: over 3 years ago
Use Anarchy installer. https://anarchyinstaller.gitlab.io/ it is easy gui followed steps install, but imho way better is to try to install it manually using arch wiki, since if any problems occurs, you will at least know, where to look at. Source: about 4 years ago
Archinstall would like to have a word with you. Anarchy Installer also exists. Both work wonders and give a working system out of the box. Just don't have extremely new hardware, or you'll be troubleshooting any distro. There's also AUR tools to give you a minimal browser to point to the wiki iirc. Source: about 4 years ago
Great question, and that's a thought that has crossed my mind now and then (though it would have to include options to modify configuration files, theming, etc., not merely install packages). The simple answer is that (a) I remember how much I benefited from Anarchy during my transition to Arch, so I see some value in this type of installer, and (b) I just really wanted to create my own custom installer. :) It's... While there isn't a proper Linux client, if you find yourself on a Linux box and need to sync to or from iCloud, rclone[1] works great. Hello, as always: imho (!) tar is great, and well kown - but not particularly for "incremental backups over the net" ... This is what rsync is/was for. Idk ... You can schedule the takeout to Drive, then use a tool such as rclone (amazing tool) to pull it down. It should not add any costs except the storage for the takeout zip on drive. For convenience, the rclone tool is nice for most cloud storage like google and stuff that make rsync annoying[0] rsync also offers compression[1], and you might want to balance it depending if you want to be CPU bound or IO bound.
