ale ReadwiseI imported my kindle highlights, as many others. Now I daily review some highlights (thanks to a dashboard, I am motivated). And where I didn't create highlights, as I only listened to the audiobooks, I get the highlights from others. It also allows to create beautiful quotes. It adds the book cover and matches quote and background with colours found on the book title! Really nice!
Readwise might be a bit more popular than ale. We know about 88 links to it since March 2021 and only 60 links to ale. Ctrl-X Ctrl-L is line based completion, see :help CTRL-X_CTRL-L for details. :help ins-completion gets the useful docs, Vim's own docs are very good and worth spending some time learning how to use, so you can learn Vim itself better. Another favorite of mine is 'gf' to open the filename under the cursor, very useful combined with ^X ^F. FWIW, I still use regular vim with ale [0] and it does everything I want. It formats files with Black and isort, shows ruff and pyright errors, supports jumping to definitions, and has variable information available on hover. The only highlights that Readwise retrieves semi-automatically are from the books I buy from Kindle, by going into the Readwise app and clicking a button. If I upload them to Kindle or need highlights from the Apple Books app, I have to open the book, go to my highlights, select them all, and then email them to a Readwise email address. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Readwise also has this feature.
